About this project
What does Abyssal Planet add?
Abyssal Planet
Abyssal Planet is a Forge 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 Neo forge adventure mod that opens the way to a vast underwater dimension filled with mysterious ecosystems, forgotten treasures, tameable creatures, dangerous predators, and colossal bosses.
Enter the Abyss through a powerful typhoon and explore a world shaped by crushing depths, darkness, strong currents, toxic waters, immense sand dunes, rare minerals, and hostile environments. Every biome offers its own atmosphere, resources, creatures, and secrets.
Explore the Abyss
The dimension is divided into several distinct regions:
- Deep Abyssal, the dark central biome and hunting ground of the Kraken.
- Abyssal Valley, surrounded by enormous sand dunes, Blue Gold deposits, rare vegetation, and unusual creatures.
- Decay Road, a corrupted outer region filled with red toxic water and decayed terrain.
- The Abyssal Tunnel, a massive natural chasm hidden within Decay Road, descending deep into the darkness.
Surviving the Abyss requires preparation. Water pressure, limited visibility, powerful currents, poisonous ink, toxic water, and enormous predators turn exploration into a dangerous expedition.
Discover a Living Ecosystem
Abyssal Planet introduces many original creatures:
- Abyssal Octopuses
- Luminous fish schools
- Blue Abyssal Moonfish
- Zwoings and their rare color variants
- Mini-Krakens
- Tameable Baby Krakens
- Abyssal Vipers
- Abyssal Serpents
- Abyssal Shrimp
- Georges Junior and Georges Senior
- Georges-Briochard, guardian of the Abyssal Tunnel
Some creatures are harmless or defensive, while others react violently when threatened. Several species can be collected, tamed, raised, equipped, or even used as underwater mounts.
Face Colossal Bosses
The Abyss is ruled by creatures far larger than anything found in the Overworld.
The Abyssal Kraken
The Kraken stalks players before entering combat. It circles its target, disappears into the darkness, performs terrifying charges, fires ink projectiles, and attacks at close range with its tentacles.
Defeating it rewards valuable materials used to craft some of the mod’s most powerful equipment.
The Abyssal Serpent
Summoned through a special bait sequence, the Abyssal Serpent launches devastating charges before retreating into the depths. Its legendary venom can permanently enhance weapons with execution effects.
Georges-Briochard
Hidden at the bottom of the Abyssal Tunnel, Georges-Briochard is normally peaceful. Attacking him, however, begins a dangerous fight against a huge lantern fish capable of biting, clinging to players, and inflicting stacking bleeding damage.
Tame and Raise Abyssal Companions
Not every creature in the Abyss must be defeated.
Rare Baby Krakens can be tamed and will follow their owner across dimensions. They defend their master using ink and bubble attacks, can be healed with Abyssal Compost, and may be ordered to sit or follow.
Abyssal Eggs found inside the tunnel can hatch into different creatures. They may contain Georges Junior, a future Georges Senior mount, or something considerably rarer.
Georges Senior can be saddled and ridden underwater. While mounted, it grants underwater breathing and night vision, moves quickly through the ocean, and can attack using a powerful bite.
Collect Rare Resources
Explore the ocean floor and giant dunes to discover:
- Blue Gold Ore
- Blue Gold Ingots
- Abyssal Ink
- Abyssal Scales
- Kraken Teeth
- Oceanic Soul Fragments
- Kraken Hearts
- Abyssal Toxins
- Legendary Abyssal Venom
- Moonfish Skin
- Abyssal Algae
- Blue Gold Trees and Leaves
Resources can be mined, smelted, harvested, looted from creatures, or discovered in dangerous areas.
Craft Powerful Abyssal Equipment
Use the materials found in the dimension to create unique equipment:
- Totem of Abyssal Souls, granting underwater survival bonuses while held.
- Abyssal Staff, a two-handed weapon capable of firing ink and opening temporary portals.
- Golden Blue Dagger, a fast weapon using Abyssal Toxins to apply stacking poison.
- Abyssal Hunter’s Crossbow, a rare weapon found in Decay Road with toxic arrows and a powerful fifth shot.
- Abyssal Pouch, a linked 30-slot storage bag with a remotely accessible ghostly copy.
- Abyssal Soup, connecting two players through a dangerous teleportation ritual.
- Typhoon Caller, used to open the path toward the Abyss.
- Go Out, allowing explorers to return toward the entrance typhoon.
- Whistle of the Abyss, linked to a Georges Senior mount.
