What is GregLink?
GregLink is a runtime compatibility bridge that makes GregTech CEu Modern work with KubeJS 2101.7.x on NeoForge 1.21.1.
Starting from KubeJS 2101.7.0, the recipe component API was significantly restructured — class paths were relocated, field types changed, and interfaces swapped with classes. These breaking changes prevent GTCEu from launching, crashing at the world selection screen with a NullPointerException.
GregLink works as a CoreMod, dynamically patching GTCEu's bytecode at startup to resolve these incompatibilities. No GTCEu or KubeJS jar files are modified — deleting GregLink restores everything to its original state.
Features
- Zero-intrusion — Does not modify GTCEu or KubeJS jars. All patching happens in memory at launch.
- Plug-and-play — Drop it into your mods folder, no configuration needed.
- Fully reversible — Remove GregLink.jar and everything reverts.
- All core functionality preserved — Machine recipes, materials, world generation, and JEI integration all work normally.
Compatibility
- Minecraft: 1.21.1
- Mod Loader: NeoForge 21.1+
- GTCEu Modern: 7.0.1 / 7.0.2 (7.0.x series)
- KubeJS: 2101.7.x
Tested and verified on both GTCEu 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 environments — from startup through KJS script loading to normal gameplay.
Known Issues
- GT Shaped Recipe Schema is disabled. The underlying KJS API methods (
asPatternKey,STRICT_ITEM_STACK) were completely removed in KubeJS 2101.7.x and cannot be restored. Use KubeJS's nativeshaped/shapelessrecipe types for worktable recipes instead.
