About this project

What does Golden Claims add?

Golden Claims

Golden Claims is a server-authoritative land-claim mod for Minecraft 1.12.2, built as an independent Forge implementation of the classic golden-shovel claiming workflow. It does not read Bukkit/Sponge GriefPrevention data - it's a from-scratch reimplementation with deep, explicit protection against modded exploits that bypass Forge's own events.

Features

Claiming & Resizing

  • Right-click two opposite corners with a vanilla golden shovel to create a full-height claim (minimum area of 2 blocks, so 1x2/2x1 chest claims work)
  • Sneak-right-click a corner to start resizing, then confirm the new location with a second click
  • Holding a golden shovel shows nearby boundaries live: green (owned), blue (trusted), red (denied), gold (admin), purple (resize preview)
  • Creating/enlarging spends the owner's allowance; shrinking and abandoning refund it automatically
  • Currency payments are tracked per claim so refunds stay correct even after prices change

Flexible Trust & Permissions

  • Independent permission grants per player or public: ACCESS, CONTAINER, ENTITY, BUILD, MANAGE, VISITOR, CARETAKER, BUILDER, or ALL
  • MANAGE implies everything; BUILD does not implicitly grant CONTAINER/ENTITY - fine-grained by design
  • Fake-player trust and per-claim automation toggles for modded machines (item pipes, quarries, etc.)

Four Allowance Modes

  • PLAYTIME (default) - starting allowance plus per-active-hour growth, with AFK timeout
  • FIXED - a flat configurable total per player
  • CURRENCY - pay for claim blocks through the optional Grand Economy API
  • UNLIMITED - no area cap; overlap, dimension, and claim-count rules still apply
  • Switching modes preserves all claims and mode-specific ledgers

Admin Toolkit

  • Server-owned claims that never expire and don't spend allowance
  • Stand-in inspection/resize/delete/transfer/trust/automation editing for any player's or the server's claims
  • Explicit, session-only protection bypass (/claimsadmin bypass on/off)
  • Dimension blacklist/whitelist with arbitrary (including negative, modded) dimension IDs
  • Inactive-account cleanup with scan/preview + confirmation, and world-relative backups/exports

Deep Protection Coverage

  • Block breaking/placing/multi-placing, container and item-handler access, buckets, fluid boundary flow, lava ignition, explosions, farmland trampling, mob griefing, entity interaction/damage/mounting, projectiles, fake players, and boundary piston updates
  • Explicit hardening against mods whose destructive abilities bypass standard Forge events, including Ghost's Explosives (TNT, landmines, C4), Star Tech's Power Blast, HeroesExpansion's grabbed-block ability, ICBM Classic and Cyclic explosives, Botania's Laputa Shard, and Cyclic's placement/building tools

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.12.2
  • Forge (tested with 14.23.5.2864)
  • Java 8
  • Server-side only - clients do not need the mod
  • Grand Economy (optional - required only for CURRENCY allowance mode)

Player Commands

/claim help, info, list, name, trust/untrust, permissions, trustlist, abandon/abandonall, transfer, automation, trustmachine/untrustmachine, cancel, confirm

Admin Commands
