About this project
What does PlayerTasks add?
Player Tasks
Player Tasks is a multiplayer Fabric minigame mod where every player receives a hidden objective and must complete it before someone else figures it out.
Complete your secret task to earn points—or use your limited guesses to identify another player’s task and steal the advantage!
Features
- More than 100 automatically tracked Minecraft tasks
- Random, unique task assignment
- Previously used tasks remain unavailable until the task pool is reloaded
- Secret tasks delivered privately through chat
- Interactive player-selection and task-guessing screens
- Configurable round timer and maximum guesses
- Live countdown boss bar
- Right-side score display
- Automatic round completion
- Firework effects when a task is completed
- Ender Dragon roar when your task is guessed
- Note-block chime when a round ends
- Players return to their original positions after each round
- Support for manual and automatic round termination
How It Works
Players join the game using /pt join. Once everyone is ready, use /pt start.
At the beginning of a round:
- Each player’s position is recorded.
- Every participant receives a unique secret task.
- The round timer begins.
- Players attempt to complete their task without revealing it.
Completing your task awards one point. Players can also use /pt guess to select another participant and enter what they believe that player’s task is.
A correct guess awards one point and prevents the target from scoring for that task.
The round ends when:
- Every task has been completed or guessed
- The configured timer expires
/pt stopis used- All participating players leave
At the end of the round, participants are returned to their recorded starting locations.
Commands
All commands support both /pt and /playertasks.
/pt join— Join the game/pt leave— Leave the game and reset your score/pt start— Start a new round/pt stop— Stop the current round/pt guess— Open the task-guessing interface/pt score— Display current scores/pt config guesses <amount>— Configure guesses per player/pt config timer <seconds>— Configure the round duration/pt reload score— Reset all scores without restoring used tasks/pt reload tasks— Restore the complete task pool without changing scores
Requirements
- Minecraft Java Edition 26.1.2
- Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer
- Fabric API
- Java 25
The mod must be installed on both the server and participating clients because it includes custom guessing screens and networking.
Note : For now, a set of 110 tasks are hardcoded into the mod. I will be releasing the code, and an editable version soon
