⚠️ CNPCPlus is mainly a creator-focused improvement mod. It does not add new blocks or items. Most changes improve existing CustomNPCs systems.

CNPCPlus is a community-maintained enhancement project for CustomNPCs, designed for adventure maps, RPG servers, modpacks, and Minecraft storytelling projects.

CNPCPlus does not replace CustomNPCs.

Instead, it improves the original CustomNPCs experience by providing:

• Bug fixes.
• Compatibility improvements.
• Workflow improvements for creators.
• New customization options.
• Better support for complex modded environments.

Most features work silently in the background.

If you are looking for new blocks, items, or visible content, you may not notice changes immediately. CNPCPlus focuses on improving the systems used by map creators, server developers, and CustomNPCs users.

Recipe System Improvements

CNPCPlus greatly improves the CustomNPCs recipe editing experience.

Recipe Editor Fixes

Improvements include:

• Fixed recipe item position shifting when saving custom recipes.
• Improved recipe editing stability.
• Reworked recipe systems in some versions.

Recipe Browser Sidebar

When editing CustomNPCs crafting recipes, CNPCPlus adds a collapsible recipe sidebar.

Features:

• Quickly view available custom recipes.
• Preview required ingredients.
• Automatically fill recipe ingredients.
• Supports Workbench 3×3 recipes.
• Supports Carpenter Bench 4×4 recipes.

This makes creating large RPG maps and custom crafting systems much easier.

Recipe Compatibility Improvements

CustomNPCs recipes often have compatibility problems with modded items containing complex NBT data.

CNPCPlus improves this system by adding:

• Fuzzy Matching
• Name Only Checking

These options can be configured in the config file.

This improves compatibility with mods where items contain changing NBT data.

Examples:

• Weapons with ammunition data.
• Items with durability information.
• Mods that store additional information inside items.

Compatible examples:

• TACZ weapons.
• Other NBT-heavy modded items.

NPC Customization Improvements

NPC Scale Expansion

Original CustomNPCs NPC scaling is limited.

CNPCPlus expands NPC scaling:

50% ~ 150% → 0% ~ 1000%

This allows creators to make:

• Extremely small NPCs.
• Giant NPCs.
• Abnormal creatures.
• Special visual effects.

No custom model is required for many effects.

Puppet Job Improvements

CNPCPlus adds more control options for Puppet NPCs.

Added:

• XYZ separation distance.

This allows creators to create:

• Floating body parts.
• Separated limbs.
• Special cinematic effects.

Useful for:

• Boss scenes.

Equipment and Body Part Control

NPC equipment now has more independent control.

Supports:

Creator Workflow Improvements

CNPCPlus adds several quality-of-life improvements for map creators and developers.

NPC Inventory Improvements

Added:

• Shift + Left Click to quickly equip NPC items.
• NPC head slots can render non-armor items.

Example:

• TACZ weapons can be displayed on NPCs.

Bank Job Improvements

For players:

• Shift + Left Click can quickly place items into NPC Bank Jobs.

This improves the experience of storage NPCs.

Cross-Version Community Project

CNPCPlus is maintained for multiple Minecraft versions:

• Forge 1.12.2
• Forge 1.20.1
• NeoForge 1.21.1

The goal is to keep useful improvements synchronized between versions while respecting each version's differences.

Previously Integrated Features

Some CNPCPlus features for 1.20.1 have already been accepted and merged into upstream CustomNPCs.

These features are no longer included in CNPCPlus because they are already provided by newer CustomNPCs versions.
