About this project

What does PowerCards add?

PowerCardsThe Deck Inventory

Inspired by games such as Paper Mario and Block Tales, PowerCards adds a bunch of cards and a deckbuilding system, allowing players to make unique builds and play their way! Each card has a cost, abilities, and effects, and players can find card packs and shreds throughout their world to obtain the build of their dreams, no matter how silly!

Gameplay

The Deck

The Deck can be opened via a keybind (default 'R'), and has 30 slots. This is where players will equip cards. Each card item has a cost to equip, the total cost of all cards in a player's deck cannot exceed their maximum Build Points (or BP), if it does the player's cards will not work until it is resolved.

BP / Build Points

Players start with 3 maximum BP, meaning they can equip cards up to a total cost of 3! Of course, this is rather minimal, wouldn't you agree? From a Card Pack, players will often find a special card called a "Power Card" that when used increases the player's BP permanently by 1. Up to a maximum of 27!

Obtaining Cards

Currently, cards can be obtained from around your world by finding Card Shreds and (more rarely) Card Packs in generated chests in vanilla Minecraft structures. 8 card shreds and an iron ingot can be used to craft a card pack. A card pack will give a few random cards, with more powerful cards being rarer.

Pardon My Dust!

This is my first ever mod, well it's not, but it's the first one i'm making public! It's my dream project, but it's not perfect and it's got a lot of planned features and things to be done. So pardon my dust as I continue my journey on learning to mod Minecraft and please report any bugs or suggestions on the GitHub! (At least, you should be able to do it there, I'm new to this!)
