About this project
What does Music Disc Lore Mod add?
Music Disc Lore Mod
The ruins of Minecraft hold dark secrets. For generations, the mistakes of the ancient builders remained buried. Now, you can unearth their catastrophic failures firsthand. Build their doomed creations, witness their downfall, or choose to rewrite history by forcing the chaos to a halt. The choice to repeat the past—or stop it is yours... ...or relive it.
Gameplay Features
NEW UPDATE: Transformation animation added!
- Decoded Audio Lore: Every single vanilla music disc in the game now contains embedded, custom lore text. When players obtain or inspect a music disc, they unlock the true, unredacted backstory behind the audio track. These logs reveal exactly what the ancient builders were recording, their final warnings, and the timeline of their civilization's collapse.
- The Ancient Archives: This mod introduces unique, historical data fragments scattered throughout the world's oldest structures. Players must thoroughly explore and excavate Trail Ruins and Strongholds to locate these lost fragments. Finding them allows you to stitch together the missing pieces of the builders' history and decode the deeper secrets of the world.
- Rewrite History: The knowledge you recover translates into direct action. Players will unlock the ability to physically reconstruct the ancient, doomed creations that originally caused the builders' downfall. Once built, you face a critical crossroad: allow the historical destruction to repeat itself to witness the downfall firsthand, or actively choose to force the chaos to an absolute halt, curing the corruptiom.
- Gives Ruins a Vital Purpose: Instead of just looting generic items, exploring temples and strongholds now serves as a progression system. Players have a distinct, narrative-driven reason to hunt down and excavate these structures to piece together the overarching story.
- Turns Discs Into Core Narrative Artifacts: Finding a music disc becomes a high-value milestone. They no longer act as simple background tunes, but as essential historical puzzle pieces that unlock new context and player choices.
- Drives High-Stakes Player Agency: The ability to rebuild or stop the ancient chaos transforms the sandbox world. It shifts the end-game loop from basic survival into an active choice where you decide the permanent fate of your world's history.
