Zomboid Horde

This mod is made to make the zombie spawning and behaivor more like Project Zombiod zombies. I am working on a modpack and needed a mod that filled a specific role. There are other mods out there, but they seem to make zombies spawn more, or make them really tough.

This mod allows you to have configurable hordes which act as a spawn script for zombies. The hordes generate as groups of zombies as defined in the configuration. Zombies also do not despawn, so the only way to get rid of hordes is to clear them yourself. Hordes can be configured to have certain mobs spawn in them, and it allows biome specific generation. This allows you to have different types of hordes depending on the area.

Zombies will also target the player differently. Instead of the player being in range of a zombie, zombies now have to look at you to aquire a target. This allows sneaking, and hiding. You can break lock with a zombie by hiding or going out of its LOS, it will just go to the last point it saw you and investiagate. Don't be fooled though, the zombies have hearing now and will investigate sounds. Zombies can also follow other alerted zombies out of curiosity.

Mod Features:

  • Configurable zombie horde system
  • Zombie sound perception
  • New zombie targeting system
  • Zombie targeting and pathfinding AI optimizations to handle 100s of zombies
  • Updated sound configuration to prevent zombie sound clipping
  • New types of zombies present in the default horde configurations

Planned Features:

  • New health system for players
  • Infection system for players
  • Player zombie conversion appon death
  • Better combat system to handle hords of zombies
  • Compatibility with other mods
  • Compatibility for newer versions of Minecraft

This mod has not been tested with other mods yet, thus there are probably going to be incompatibilities present when ran in modpacks. Use with caution.
