About this project

What does TechUp add?

Techup

A server-wide tech progression mod.

Everyone starts in the Tribal Age. Research your way forward, unlock better gear, and push the whole server into new Ages together — while three independent side paths let you chase Magic, Nether, and End content on your own time.

Features

  • Five main Ages — Tribal, Ancient, Iron, Gunpowder, and Steam. The server advances as a whole once enough players unlock the current Age — progression is a shared, team effort, not a solo race.
  • Three independent side tracks — Magic, Nether, and End research paths with no population gate, playable anytime.
  • Techtables — a dedicated research bench for every Age and side path. Spend items and XP to unlock new tools, weapons, and armor.
  • Real stakes for staying current — using gear ahead of your own research works, but worse: reduced durability, slower mining and attacks, weaker armor. The further ahead it is, the rougher it gets.
  • Adoption pricing — the more players who've already unlocked something, the cheaper it gets for everyone after them.
  • Dark Ages — a wave of deaths can plunge the server into a Dark Age, spiking research costs and even pushing the server's Age backward if things don't improve. Your own personal unlocks are always safe.
  • Track your own progress — a simple command shows your personal Age level against the server's current one.
  • Deep admin control — an in-game config menu, a full visual node/tree editor, and JSON import/export so admins can fully customize every tree's content.
  • Built-in guidebook — every new player gets a short, friendly primer the moment they join.

Planned Future Features

  • Custom Models & Textures for Workbenches — replacing the current placeholder look with fully custom, Age-appropriate art for each Techtable.
  • More Admin Options — expanding the existing toolkit with additional fine-grained server controls.
  • Difficulty Scaling — tunable overall difficulty to fit different servers and playstyles.
