About this project

What does Digital Underground Currency add?

Digital Underground Currency

Digital Underground Currency is a lightweight Fabric mod that replaces the traditional emerald-based economy with a simple and immersive three-tier coin system.

Instead of trading with emeralds, villagers now use Copper, Silver, and Gold Coins, creating a more natural progression for survival servers, RPG adventures, and Vanilla+ modpacks.

Features

  • Copper, Silver and Gold Coins
  • Villager trades automatically use coins instead of emeralds
  • Coins can be found as loot in naturally generated structures, rewarding exploration and adventure.
  • Configurable coin conversion ratios
  • Coin crafting and upgrading
  • Custom coin textures
  • Lightweight and server-friendly
  • Designed for Fabric

Configuration

The mod includes a simple configuration file that allows you to customize the exchange rates between coins.

Example:

{
  "conversion": {
    "copperToSilverRatio": 9,
    "silverToGoldRatio": 9
  },
  "crafting": {
    "enableCopperToSilver": true,
    "enableSilverToGold": true
  }
}

You can easily balance your economy by changing the conversion ratios without editing any code.

About

Digital Underground Currency was originally created for the Digital Underground Minecraft community to provide a lightweight, configurable currency system without the complexity of large economy mods. It is now available for everyone to use in their own worlds and modpacks.

If you encounter any issues, have suggestions, or would like to see improvements, feel free to leave feedback.

Please keep in mind that this is my very first Minecraft mod—and quite possibly my last! It started as a fun project for our community, and I decided to share it in case others find it useful as well.

I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
