What does Mana Transform add?

Mana Transform

Mana Transform is a NeoForge addon that connects the mana systems of Dragon Survival and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks.

When the mana normally used by a spell is insufficient, Mana Transform automatically uses mana from the other mod as a fallback. Mana is converted only when casting requires it; the two mana pools are not passively merged.

Default Conversion Ratio

By default:

1 Dragon Survival mana = 50 Iron's Spells mana

The ratio can be configured from 1 to 1000.

Configuration

Enter a world, open the Mods screen, select Mana Transform, and click Config.

On dedicated servers, permission level 2 is required to modify the settings. Ordinary players can view the current server settings but cannot change them.

The server configuration is stored in:

<world>/serverconfig/mana_transform-server.toml

Requirements

  • NeoForge 21.1.186 or newer within the 21.1.x line
  • Dragon Survival 2.0.51 through 2.0.68
  • Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks 1.21.1-3.15.x or 1.21.1-3.16.x
  • The required dependencies of Dragon Survival and Iron's Spells

Mana Transform must be installed on both the client and server.

Version Compatibility

Mana Transform 1.0.2 supports both legacy and current Dragon Survival mana APIs:

  • Dragon Survival 2.0.51–2.0.62: legacy mana API
  • Dragon Survival 2.0.63–2.0.67: reserved-mana and updated synchronization API
  • Dragon Survival 2.0.68: experience-to-mana toggle support

Versions outside the listed ranges are rejected during mod loading because future dependency updates may change implementation-level APIs or Mixin targets.

How It Works

For Dragon Survival abilities, Mana Transform attempts payment in this order:

  1. Available Dragon Survival mana
  2. Iron's Spells mana converted at the configured ratio
  3. Dragon Survival's experience mana, if enabled by the player

For Iron's Spells, available Iron's Spells mana is used first. If the player is a dragon and more mana is required, the remaining cost can be paid with Dragon Survival mana.

Mana reserved by Dragon Survival abilities is not available for conversion.
