About this project

What does SeedRay Seed Based X-Ray add?

SEEDRAY

An X-ray mod for Fabric/NeoForge that bypasses server-side anti-Xray plugins/Mods.

I created this mod because normal X-ray fails when servers obfuscate chunk data. SEEDRAY avoids this by not relying on the chunks the server sends. Instead, it recalculates ore placement client-side using the world seed.

(Note: The mod is functional, but you may still encounter minor bugs in some places.)

Two Modes

Seed Mode (Anti-Xray Bypass) — Takes the world seed and runs Minecraft's actual worldgen code against a throwaway world to calculate exactly where ores were placed. Because it derives the result from the seed rather than server block data, it bypasses anti-Xray completely. Predictions are cross-checked against loaded chunks to hide veins cut out by caves.

Normal Mode — Scans loaded chunks for the blocks you picked. Fast, simple, and works everywhere.

Getting the Seed

Seed Mode requires the world seed. Currently, the easiest way to get it is by using a separate Seed Cracker mod. (A built-in seed cracker is planned, see Roadmap).

Worldgen Mod Compatibility

SEEDRAY is built to support custom world generation. Currently, it is specifically compatible with Terralith and Biomes O' Plenty, even if both are installed at the same time.

  • Singleplayer / LAN: SEEDRAY automatically reads the server's ChunkGenerator. Data-driven mods and datapacks are picked up with no configuration.

  • Dedicated Servers: Tick the worldgen mods the server runs under Settings → Worldgen Mods and SEEDRAY will load the data from your local copies. TerraBlender-based mods are also supported if TerraBlender is installed client-side.

Features

  • Add any block, not just ores — search by name/ID, or grab what you are holding/looking at

  • Per-block color, transparency, and on/off toggle

  • Boxes render through terrain

  • Adjustable render distance and scan radius to manage framerates

  • /seedray status shows exactly what was found per block type

Roadmap

  • Built-in Seed Cracker: So you don't need a separate mod to find the seed.

  • NeoForge Port: Bringing the mod to the NeoForge loader.

  • Updates: Updating to newer Minecraft versions.

  • Mod Compatibility: Adding support for more worldgen mods in the future.

Limits Worth Knowing

  • Seed Mode needs the world seed.

  • It predicts features (ores, geodes, dungeon spawners). Blocks placed by structures (mineshaft/stronghold spawners, chests) and terrain blocks from the noise stage cannot be predicted.

  • On a dedicated server running a worldgen mod you don't have installed locally, Seed Mode can't reproduce the world and will say so.
