About this project
What does Mob Sound Variations Backport add?
This mod adds the sound variants introduced in 26.1 for pigs, cows, chickens, and cats. The eating sounds for pigs were also backported.
All naturally spawned mobs will randomly pick a sound variant from their available options, the original vanilla sounds and the new ones.
Baby animals don't have any sound variants and will always use the default vanilla sounds. However, once a baby animal grows up, it will randomly choose a sound variant, just like naturally spawned mobs do. This system was made with compatibility for Tiny Takeover Backport in mind, allowing baby variants to keep using their own unique sounds without being overridden by the new sound variants.
The added sound variants are:
Pig
Pigs now have three sound variants:
- Classic (the default sounds)
- Big
- Mini
Cat
Cats now have a new sound variant:
- Classic (the default sounds)
- Royal
Cow
Cows now have a new sound variant:
- Classic (the default sounds)
- Moody
Chicken
Chickens now have a new sound variant:
- Classic (the default sounds)
- Picky
This mod works on both the server and client side. I haven't made a config yet to customize some settings, but I plan to add one in the future.
