Seamless Ores
Ore blocks that match the stone they generate in: granite, diorite, andesite and tuff, plus basalt and blackstone in the Nether. No extra ore, the same veins drawn properly. Keeps your resource packs, Terralith and ore datapacks working.
Quick answer
Which Seamless Ores release should I use?
Seamless Ores 2.0.0 (NeoForge) targets 26.2 with NeoForge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Seamless Ores required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Seamless Ores 2.0.0 (NeoForge) need?
Seamless Ores 2.0.0 (NeoForge). Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Cloth Config API (Fabric/Forge/NeoForge) first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Seamless Ores add?
Seamless Ores
Vanilla puts stone textured ore inside granite. Deepslate textured ore inside tuff.
Seamless Ores gives every ore a background that matches the rock it actually generates in.
64 blocks
| Host stone | Ores |
|---|---|
| Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Tuff | Coal, Copper, Iron, Gold, Redstone, Lapis Lazuli, Diamond, Emerald |
| Basalt, Blackstone | Gold, Quartz |
| Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Tuff | Zinc, with Create installed |
| Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Tuff | Aquamarine, Citrine, Peridot, Topaz, Necoium, with Mythic Upgrades installed |
| Basalt, Blackstone | Ruby, Sapphire, with Mythic Upgrades installed |
Tuff is the one people notice first. Vanilla fills it with deepslate textured ore, which is the most obvious mismatch in the game.
Your Overworld does not change
Ore veins are not added, moved, resized or made more common. A block that becomes granite iron ore was already going to be iron ore.
Veins that cross a stone boundary blend by themselves, block by block, so a vein running from stone into granite changes texture halfway with no seam. The big copper and iron veins are covered too.
The Nether is the exception, and it is optional
Vanilla gold and quartz only ever generate in netherrack, so basalt and blackstone versions are genuinely new ore rather than a restyle. That is on by default, because a player who walks into the Nether, sees nothing and assumes the mod is broken is the worse outcome. Turn basalt and blackstone off and Nether generation goes back to exactly vanilla.
Two dials control how much of it you get.
Nether ore rarity decides how many basalt or blackstone veins convert, one in eight by default. This only ever removes ore that this mod added, so vanilla's own netherrack veins are untouched.
Nether vein size is the one to read carefully. It shrinks vanilla's own netherrack gold and quartz veins as well, not just ours, because vein size belongs to the whole feature rather than to the entries we add. It defaults to 60 percent, which makes the Nether a bit more of a hunt. Set it to 100 for vanilla sized veins.
Bastions are protected. Bastion remnants are built out of blackstone and basalt, and they are placed before ore generates, so without this their walls would turn into gold ore. Ore inside a bastion is placed as ordinary netherrack backed ore instead.
Mythic Upgrades
With Mythic Upgrades installed you get 24 more blocks.
Aquamarine, citrine, peridot, topaz and necoium already generate in granite, diorite, andesite and tuff, so those 20 are a pure restyle with no balance effect at all.
Ruby and sapphire are the exception, the same way vanilla gold and quartz are. They can also be scattered rarely through basalt deltas, placed like ancient debris: buried, never exposed to air, and off if you would rather not have them.
Ametrine and jade are deliberately absent. They generate in end stone, and the End has no second stone type, so there is nothing to be seamless with.
Create
With Create installed, zinc gets the same four host stones. Create already generates zinc in all of them, so the amount of zinc in your world is identical with or without this mod. Only the texture changes.
There is also a zinc vein size setting, and it does change Create's own balance. Create spreads zinc evenly from Y -63 to Y 70 at vein size 12, so it is equally common at every depth and finding it never reads as a discovery. This defaults to 9. Set it to 12 and Create's generation is left completely untouched.
Your resource packs keep working
Every block is built as two layers, the stone underneath and a transparent ore overlay on top, rather than one flattened texture.
So a pack that retextures stone restyles these blocks automatically, and glow or outline packs still work. That is the thing that usually breaks with mods like this.
Works with what you already have
Worldgen overhauls and ore distribution datapacks keep their own settings, including Terralith. Nothing is overwritten, because the ore features that already exist are extended rather than replaced.
Ore doubling, quest mods and processing chains treat these as ordinary ore, because they carry the same tags, loot, XP, hardness and mining level as the block they replace. That includes JEI, REI and Jade.
Config
A proper config screen, from Mod Menu on Fabric or the mods list on NeoForge. Fifteen settings in four sections.
| Section | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Overworld | Granite, diorite, andesite and tuff on or off, and whether the large copper and iron veins are restyled |
| Nether | Basalt and blackstone on or off, ore rarity, vein size, bastion protection |
| Create | Zinc variants, zinc vein size |
| Mythic Upgrades | Variants on or off, ruby and sapphire in deltas, and how much of them |
Config never changes which blocks exist, only what generates, so a client and a server with different settings can never disagree about the block list. Changes apply the next time you load the world, to newly generated chunks.
Glowing ores
Seamless Glowing Ores is the companion pack. Every ore glows in the dark, with an optional connected outline, and ore of the same type joins up across different stones.
Dependencies
| Mod | Fabric | NeoForge |
|---|---|---|
| Cloth Config | Required | Required |
| Fabric API | Required | n/a |
| Mod Menu | Optional | n/a |
| Create | Optional, adds zinc | Not available yet |
| Mythic Upgrades | Optional, adds 24 blocks | Optional, adds 24 blocks |
Create is Fabric only at 26.2, so the four zinc blocks do not appear on NeoForge there. The same code switches them on by itself if Create ships for NeoForge later.
Quilt should work but is untested.
Common questions
Does it work in an existing world? Yes, but only in chunks you have not visited yet. Explored areas keep what they have.
Why no calcite, smooth basalt or dripstone? Ore never generates in those blocks, so a variant would have nowhere to exist.
Does it work on a server? Yes, install it on both sides.
