About this project

What does LocalRTP add?

LocalRTP

A lightweight, highly optimized, server-side Random Teleport (RTP) mod for Fabric.
Unlike traditional RTP plugins that teleport you from the world spawn, LocalRTP teleports players safely within a configured radius around their current position.

✨ Features

  • Server-Side Only: Clients do not need to install this mod! Just drop it into your server's mods folder and it works instantly.
  • Smart & Safe: Automatically avoids lava, fire, magma, cacti, and oceans. It safely teleports players to the highest solid block or into safe spaces (e.g. inside the Nether).
  • Lag Prevention: Forces target chunks to generate before teleportation to avoid glitching into blocks. It warns the player in advance to eliminate the perception of server freezes.
  • Interruptible Countdowns: Configurable teleport delay. Moving or taking damage during the countdown will cancel the teleportation.
  • Mod Menu settings: Change radius, cooldown, countdown, water landing, Nether/End support, and more from an in-game config screen. On a server that has the mod, the server's rules take over.

💻 Commands & Permissions

  • /rtp - Start a random teleportation. (Available to everyone)

⚙️ Configuration

Upon first run, the mod generates a config file at config/localrtp.json. You can also edit the same options in-game through Mod Menu. Here is the default configuration and what each setting does:

{
  "minRadius": 1000,
  "maxRadius": 5000,
  "allowWater": false,
  "cooldownSeconds": 60,
  "countdownSeconds": 3,
  "cancelOnMoveOrDamage": true,
  "supportNether": true,
  "supportEnd": true,
}

Explanation of Settings:

  • minRadius / maxRadius: The minimum and maximum distance (in blocks) a player can be teleported relative to where they are currently standing. Defaults are 1000 to 5000 blocks.
  • allowWater: If true, players can be teleported onto the surface of oceans or lakes. If false, the mod strictly looks for solid ground.
  • cooldownSeconds: Time (in seconds) a player must wait before using the /rtp command again.
  • countdownSeconds: The delay (in seconds) before the teleport executes. Set to 0 for instant teleportation.
  • cancelOnMoveOrDamage: If true, the teleport is cancelled if the player moves their character or takes damage during the countdown.
  • supportNether / supportEnd: Allows /rtp to be used in the Nether and The End respectively.
