About this project

What does Spell Cooldown HUD add?

Spell Cooldown HUD

A lightweight, client-side HUD that shows the cooldown of your Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks spells — clean, fully configurable, and accurate even when the server is lagging.

Features

  • Three styles — radial sweep, progress bar, or a compact text list
  • Two modes — show only spells on cooldown, or all your equipped spells at once
  • Fully customizable — drag it anywhere on screen, resize, recolor, set opacity, scale and fade animations
  • In-game editor with live preview — no need to touch config files (press K)
  • Works with addon spells automatically, icons included — nothing to set up

The real cooldown, even on a laggy server

Iron's Spells syncs a spell's cooldown only once, then your client counts it down on its own. On a low-TPS server that count runs too fast, so the number hits zero before your spell is actually ready.

This mod anchors the countdown to the server's own clock, so the timer stays honest no matter how bad the TPS gets. You can toggle it off if you prefer the vanilla behavior.

Client-side and server-friendly

Everything runs on your client — the mod only reads data Iron's Spells already sends you and registers no network packets. That means you can use it on any server, even ones that don't have the mod installed.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge 21.1.0 or newer
  • Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks 1.21.1-3.16.0 or newer (required)
  • Client only — do not install it on the server

How to use

Press K to open the move screen and drag the HUD wherever you like. From there, open Settings for the full editor — or reach it any time via Mods → Spell Cooldown HUD → Config.
