About this project

What does PulseRadar add?

Pulse Radar

Pulse Radar is a lightweight, client-side radar HUD for Minecraft Fabric. It displays nearby players and mobs on a clean, circular military-style radar without turning your screen into a minimap.

The radar rotates relative to your camera direction, making it easy to understand where nearby entities are positioned around you. Player and mob blips can be configured independently, including their visibility, colour, and distance labels.

Pulse Radar does not display terrain, blocks, chunks, structures, caves, or biomes.

Features

  • Circular military/sonar-style radar HUD
  • Camera-relative radar rotation
  • Support for nearby loaded players and mobs
  • Default radar range of up to 1,000 blocks
  • Separate player and mob visibility controls
  • Configurable player and mob blip colours
  • Separate distance-label controls for players and mobs
  • Elevation indicators for entities above or below you
  • Compass-style direction markers
  • Animated cosmetic radar sweep
  • Rebindable radar toggle key
  • Persistent configuration
  • Responsive placement across different GUI scales and resolutions
  • Optional Mod Menu integration
  • Entirely client-side and lightweight

1,000-Block Radar Range

Pulse Radar is configured to support a range of up to 1,000 blocks.

However, the radar can only display entities that the Minecraft server has already sent to your client. Most multiplayer servers stop transmitting player and mob entities at a much shorter distance.

As a result, the effective radar range depends on:

  • Server view distance
  • Entity-tracking distance
  • Server performance settings
  • Installed server mods or plugins
  • Proxy and vanish systems
  • Whether the entity is currently loaded by the client

The 1,000-block setting does not bypass server restrictions or guarantee that entities will be visible from 1,000 blocks away.

Player and Mob Tracking

Players and mobs are handled independently.

You can:

  • Show or hide player blips
  • Show or hide mob blips
  • Select different colours for player and mob blips
  • Enable or disable player distance labels
  • Enable or disable mob distance labels

Mob tracking is disabled by default.

Only loaded entities already known to the client can appear on the radar.

Distance and Elevation Indicators

Distance labels show the horizontal distance to each displayed entity in blocks.

When an entity is significantly above or below you, Pulse Radar can also display:

  • for entities above you
  • for entities below you

Distance labels can be controlled separately for players and mobs.

Mod Menu Integration

When Mod Menu is installed, Pulse Radar provides an interactive configuration screen.

Open:

Mods → Pulse Radar → Configure

From this screen, you can:

  • Enable or disable the radar
  • Drag the radar anywhere on the screen
  • Resize it using the corner handle
  • Reset its position and size
  • Show or hide player blips
  • Change the player blip colour
  • Enable or disable player distance labels
  • Show or hide mob blips
  • Change the mob blip colour
  • Enable or disable mob distance labels
  • Preview changes immediately

Mod Menu is optional. Pulse Radar continues to work without it.

Controls

Press R by default to toggle the radar.

The key can be changed under:

Options → Controls → Key Binds → Pulse Radar

Privacy and Fair Play

Pulse Radar only uses entity information already available to the Minecraft client.

It does not:

  • Scan unloaded chunks
  • Search for entities outside the loaded world
  • Request additional player locations
  • Use the multiplayer player list to infer positions
  • Bypass server entity-tracking limits
  • Reveal vanished or server-hidden players
  • Display terrain, caves, structures, blocks, chunks, or biomes

If the server does not send an entity to your client, Pulse Radar cannot display it.

Configuration

Pulse Radar saves its settings in:

.minecraft/config/pulse-radar.json

For the easiest configuration experience, install Mod Menu and use the in-game configuration screen.

Requirements

  • Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11
  • Fabric Loader

  • Mod Menu 17.0.0 or newer — optional, but recommended
