FTB Evolution Companion

FTB Evolution Companion is a bespoke mod written for the FTB Evolution modpacks. It does the work that cannot be done from a config file, a datapack or a script.

This project covers both packs, so pick the file that matches the one you are playing:

• Minecraft 1.21.1 builds are for FTB Evolution. This version is fixes only, with no new content.

About 'Companion' mods

FTB Evolution Companion is one of FTB's 'Companion' mods, custom tailored mods designed to work hand in hand with a specific FTB modpack. Although these mods are visible source and released to CurseForge, we do not recommend using them in other modpacks.

Companion mods are provided as is. If you use this mod in another modpack we will not provide support, and any issue opened about problems caused by use in another modpack will be closed.

FTB Evolution (1.21.1)

Everything here is a fix for something a player reported, in cases where the problem lives inside another mod's code.

Airships. FTB Evolution builds airships on Sable sub-levels, and a lot of mods were never written with a moving world in mind. The companion keeps machines, storage and interaction working once they leave the ground:

• Blocks no longer duplicate or drop their contents when a ship is assembled or disassembled. This covers Integrated Dynamics machines, crafting stations, item frames, paintings and container blocks in general.
• Integrated Dynamics networks reform correctly after assembly and disassembly instead of coming up dead, and cable parts keep their cards.
• Create Redstone Links connect on a ship instead of registering into nothing.
• Screens and interaction work at ship coordinates, including Functional Storage drawers, Titanium machine screens, Jade tooltips, AE2 wireless terminal range and the Integrated Dynamics writer and reader.
• Crouching works normally on a deck, and homes, warps, /back, /tpa, bed respawns, Compact Machines returns and Elevator Mod elevators all follow a ship that has moved.

Crashes and stability. Several mods can crash the server or client when they meet something they did not expect. Those cases are contained so those sable edge cases are handled instead of breaking the instance.

Duplication. Item duplication is fixed at the source wherever it is found and reported.

Performance. Log flooding, slow inventory lookups, unnecessary disk syncs and wasted sound processing are all trimmed where they showed up in reported spark profiles.
