About this project

What does Bandage add?

Bandage Mod adds a simple medical system to Minecraft focused on survival gameplay.

Instead of waiting for natural regeneration, players can craft and use medical supplies to restore health directly. This makes healing more practical in difficult survival worlds and modpacks where food, thirst, temperature or other mechanics can make natural recovery harder.

The mod is intentionally lightweight and keeps the system close to the vanilla Minecraft style.

Bandage

A quick emergency healing item.

  • Restores 3 hearts
  • Takes 1.75 seconds to use
  • Can be cancelled before completion
  • Uses a custom 3D model
  • Displays a circular treatment timer while being used

Bandages are designed for situations where you need a small amount of health quickly without using an entire medical kit.

Medical Kit

A more powerful treatment item intended for serious injuries.

  • Restores the player's full health
  • Takes 6 seconds to use
  • Uses a custom 3D model
  • Displays the same treatment timer interface
  • More expensive to craft than a bandage

The long treatment time means that using a Medical Kit during combat can be risky.

Alcohol

A basic crafting material used for producing bandages.

It uses an improvised, survival-style bottle design to fit naturally into Minecraft's visual style.

Medical Alcohol

A refined version of Alcohol used for crafting Medical Kits.

This creates a simple progression:

Alcohol → Bandages

Medical Alcohol → Medical Kits

Treatment Effects

While using a Bandage or Medical Kit:

  • The held item smoothly moves downward
  • A circular timer appears in the center of the screen
  • Releasing the use button cancels treatment
  • Taking damage cancels treatment
  • The item is only consumed when treatment finishes
  • Small heart particles appear when healing is completed
  • Different sounds are used when treatments start, finish or are interrupted

Direct Healing

Healing from Field Medicine does not depend on hunger or saturation.

The items directly restore the player's health, making the mod especially useful for harder survival experiences where natural regeneration is limited or modified.

Vanilla-Friendly Style

Field Medicine was designed to feel like something that could naturally exist in Minecraft.

The mod includes:

  • Pixel-art crafting ingredients
  • Custom 3D Bandage model
  • Custom 3D Medical Kit model
  • Simple crafting progression
  • Minimal HUD elements
  • Custom treatment sounds
  • Lightweight mechanics without unnecessary systems
