About this project
What does Perk Up add?
Perk Up adds stats that grow from food, skills that grow from XP, and dozens of effects derived from combinations of stats and skills that benefit your character.
As the name suggests, this mod also adds a lot of perks with unique effects to spice up your gameplay.
The mod is still in development, so feel free to join the Discord channel and give me feedback or your suggestions.
📖 Getting Started
By default, you can press the "B" key to open Perk Up's Character screen. Here you can see all of your stats, skills, passive effects, and perk sections together.
Under the Stats panel you will see your stats and the food progress bar. This bar fills as you eat food. Once the bar is full, one contributing stat is chosen at random, weighted by how much it contributed, permanently increases by one level, and the bar resets. The capacity of the food progress bar is determined by your highest stat, so be careful to raise your stats in a balanced way.
Under the Skill panel you will see your skills. You can increase them by spending XP on them. When hovered on the corresponding button, the XP cost will appear in the Tooltip panel.
Under the Perks panel you will see your perks. You can purchase any perk by spending XP. Once unlocked, you can press them again to equip them. In the beginning of the game you will have only one perk capacity, which means you can only equip one perk at a time. However, you can switch them whenever you like by simply clicking on them. You will gain more perk capacity as you improve your Constitution and Insight.
Under the Passive Effects panel you will see effects that are derived from your current stat and skill values. As you improve your stats and skills, these effects will improve as well. You can hover over each effect name to see your progress, and hover over the corresponding bottle section to see the effect's current value.
When you die, you will lose 5 percent of each stat and skill value. This might not seem like much in the early game, but it can be devastating once you hit higher levels.
⚙️ Configs
You can change the XP cost of skill leveling and also change or add food to stat properties, all through config file edits.
