Ghost Hopper

Ghost Hopper is a lightweight quality-of-life mod that adds a ghost filter slot to vanilla hoppers.

Instead of building large redstone item sorters just to control what a hopper accepts, Ghost Hopper lets you choose the accepted item directly from the hopper GUI.

How It Works

Open any vanilla hopper and you'll see a new Filter Slot.

Place an item into the filter slot and:

• The item is not consumed.

• A ghost copy of the item appears in the slot.

• The hopper will only accept that item.

• Everything else will be ignored.

This means you can place multiple Ghost Hoppers together and create extremely simple item-sorting systems.

For example, you can have one hopper accept only iron, another accept only diamonds, another accept only redstone, and another accept only wool.

Why Ghost Hopper?

Vanilla item filters work, but they can require a lot of redstone, extra blocks, and filler items.

Ghost Hopper is designed to make item filtering:

• Faster

• Smaller

• Easier to understand

• Easier to build

• More convenient for large storage systems

It does not replace the normal hopper — it simply adds filtering functionality directly to it.

Compatibility

Ghost Hopper is currently made for Minecraft Java Edition using Fabric and forge.

I plan to keep the mod updated for newer Minecraft versions as they release.

I am currently focusing on newer versions rather than backporting the mod to older Minecraft releases.
