Bear Necessities

Bear Necessities is a food, farming, and cozy-building mod with more ways to cook, grow, decorate, and build out a home.

It adds cooking systems, new crops, useful decorative blocks, and a few world additions to make kitchens, farms, villages, and everyday builds feel more complete.

Cooking tools

Dedicated cooking blocks add new ways to prepare, cook, display, and serve food.

Modular foods

Build meals from their ingredients to make your own combinations instead of choosing from a fixed list.

The Perpetual Stew Pot keeps an ongoing stew going as long as it is supplied with water and ingredients.

Crops, fruit, and pantry stuff

Grow a wider set of crops and collect fruit directly from fruiting leaves. Crop crates and herb bags help keep farming supplies organized.

Jars, taps, and drinks

Jars hold drinks and foods, while taps slowly collect useful liquids from the blocks they are attached to.

General & Building

Framed blocks

Framed Blocks let you place another block inside them to borrow its texture. They come in a bunch of useful shapes, including furniture, doors, trapdoors, walls, fences, stairs, drawers, and more, so matching a build is much less annoying.

Storage and decoration

Several items are added as practical decoration to kitchens, farms, workshops, and market stalls. Storage crates provide compact bulk storage, and eight can combine into a larger crate.

Palm trees and desert life

Palm trees add their own wood set, coconuts, and small desert oases.

Trellises and greenery

Trellises give vines a cleaner way to climb around your builds. They support the usual vines, including glowing ones, and work with a few custom wood types too.

Woodcutter and small useful stuff

The Woodcutter is the wood version of a Stonecutter, making it easier to turn logs and planks into their useful building variants. The mod also includes smaller additions such as the straw hat and salt lick.

Tools & Equipment

Scythes

Scythes are a dual purpose tool, their primary use is bulk harvesting, allowing fields to be harvested much quicker while auto replanting your crops. They also function as weapons, with a much wider sweep arc than swords.
