About this project
What does FurnaceOptimizer add?
Furnace Optimizer
Furnaces should spend their time smelting items, not repeatedly performing the same recipe checks.
Furnace Optimizer reduces unnecessary processing performed by furnaces, blast furnaces, and smokers. It also adds a configurable cooking-speed multiplier, allowing these blocks to work faster without making fuel artificially more efficient.
The default cooking speed is 2.0x, meaning furnaces process recipes twice as fast as normal.
1.0x :

2.0x :

20.0x :

Features
- Optimizes furnaces, blast furnaces, and smokers
- Caches recipe results while the input remains unchanged
- Reduces repeated recipe searches
- Skips unnecessary processing while a furnace is inactive and its inventory has not changed
- Helps reduce server tick impact when many furnaces are loaded
- Supports configurable whole and fractional speed multipliers
- Uses a default speed multiplier of
2.0x - Keeps fuel consumption proportional to cooking speed
- Preserves normal recipe completion and experience rewards
- Supports hoppers, automation, comparators, and redstone behavior
- Supports compatible modded recipes and furnace block entities
Speed Configuration
The speed multiplier can be changed in:
config/furnaceoptimizer-common.toml
Example:
[general]
speedMultiplier = 2.0
Common values include:
1.0— Vanilla cooking speed1.5— Fifty percent faster2.0— Twice as fast3.0— Three times as fast
Values between 1.0 and 64.0 are supported.
Cooking progress and fuel time advance together. A furnace running at 2.0x speed cooks twice as quickly and consumes its available burn time twice as quickly, preserving the normal fuel cost per item.
Compatibility
Furnace Optimizer works with:
- Furnace
- Blast Furnace
- Smoker
- Hoppers and automated item transport
- Comparator and redstone output
- Datapack recipes
- Compatible modded cooking recipes
- Compatible modded blocks based on Minecraft's standard furnace block entity
