About this project

What does Create: Furnace Engine add?

Create: Furnace Engine

A burning furnace is a heat source. Put it to work.

Create: Furnace Engine revives the Furnace Engine from older versions of Create and rebuilds it for Create 6. Instead of a Steam Boiler, it runs on any furnace that is actively burning fuel — bolt the engine to the side, put a Flywheel in front of it, and light the fire.

How It Works

  1. Attach a Furnace Engine to the side of a Furnace, Blast Furnace, or Smoker.
  2. Place a Create Flywheel two blocks out from the engine, leaving one empty block between them.
  3. Hold a Flywheel and right-click the engine to use the placement guide, exactly like Create's Steam Engine.
  4. Once the furnace starts burning fuel, the engine spins up and delivers rotational force.

Placement Rules

  • One Furnace Engine per furnace.
  • The engine cannot go on the furnace's front face — that side stays free for the GUI.
  • Side faces only. Top and bottom mounts are not supported.
  • The Flywheel's axis must be perpendicular to the direction the engine extends, and it cannot stand upright.
  • Power leaves the Flywheel from one end only — the end away from the crank. The crank sweeps through the other side.

Features

  • Head, Piston, Linkage and Crank animation built on Create's Steam Engine
  • Flywheel placement guide with ghost preview
  • Rotation direction set with Engineer's Goggles and the scroll wheel
  • Automatic start and stop that follows the furnace's burn state
  • Gradual RPM warm-up instead of instant full speed
  • Configurable heat sink block and power output
  • Its own Industrial Iron–style engine head texture
  • Ponder scenes and full English / 한국어 localization

Warm-up

The engine does not slam to full speed. When the furnace lights up it starts at 1 RPM, then every 15 ticks it gains about 1/12 of its target RPM (at least 1 RPM) until it reaches the target.

At default settings that is 3 RPM per step, reaching 40 RPM in roughly 10 seconds.

When the furnace goes out the engine stops and the warm-up resets — the next start begins from 1 RPM again.

Heat Sinks

If a configured heat sink block touches the furnace on any of its 6 faces, the engine switches to its heat sink profile: lower RPM, but the stress capacity per RPM is tuned separately.

The default heat sink is minecraft:copper_block.

Configuration

A config file is generated at config/createfurnaceengine-common.toml after the first launch.

Option Default Description
baseRpm 40 Target RPM with no heat sink
baseSuPerRpm 32 Stress capacity per RPM with no heat sink
heatSinkBlock minecraft:copper_block Block ID recognized as a heat sink
heatSinkRpm 32 Target RPM with a heat sink present
heatSinkSuPerRpm 32 Stress capacity per RPM with a heat sink present

Total stress capacity is current RPM × SU per RPM. At defaults, a fully warmed-up engine supplies 1,280 SU, or 1,024 SU with a heat sink.

Create: Furnace Engine (화로 엔진)

  • Industrial Iron

최초 실행 후 config/createfurnaceengine-common.toml 파일이 생성됩니다.
