Rift Technology
A tech mod built around rifts and the machines that harness their influence. Energy networks, automation, and flux-warped threats in a world cracked open by rifts.

About this project
What does Rift Technology add?
Rift Technology is a tech mod built around rifts, player-owned networks, and Rift Flux. Recruit villagers, assign them a profession, then grow an industrial base of energy, logistics, machines, and tools. The world answers with rifts, mutated creatures, and Phase Instability.
Villagers
- Recruit a villager and turn them into a worker
- Assign a profession: Farmer, Lumberjack, Herder, Butcher, Carrier, Warrior, or Runner
- Farmers harvest fields and can find Stellar and Resonance materials. Lumberjacks cut and replant trees. Herders handle animals. Butchers process livestock. Carriers move cargo. Warriors fight. Runners generate power on a PowerMill 9000
- Use Extractor Stalls to pull milk or Rift Ichor from animals
Rift Flux
- Flux Rifts appear in the world and raise chunk Rift Flux (Φ)
- Nearby mobs can mutate into Rift Grazers, Rift Bats, Rift Spiders, Rift Skeletons, Rift Zombies, and Rift Creepers
- Standing in flux builds Phase Instability. High values lead to Phase Decay
- Measure flux with a Rift Flux Analyzer. Contain a rift with a Rift Anchor. Place a Contained Rift to keep its strength
- Survive with a Phase Stabilizer, Flux Insulation modules, and Rift-related drops (Ichor, Ice, Web, Phasewood, Rift Berry, Crimson Herb)
Energy
- Generate FE with Combustion Generators, Solar Panels, Flux Reactors, and PowerMill 9000
- Flux Reactors convert neighboring chunk flux into power. Cool them with Rift Ichor. Add Flux Amplifiers in the same chunk for extra Φ
- Move energy through cable networks. Store it in Energy Orbs
- Link generators and storage to an Access Terminal to lock them to your network
Storage, logistics, and machines
- Build a player network around an Access Terminal, Access Card, and Configurator
- Expand item storage with Storage Modules. Share fluids with Quantum Tanks. Use Fluid Tanks for local buffering
- Move items and fluids through pipe networks, with filters and side configuration
- Unlock crafting-table recipes at a Research Terminal, then autocraft them in a Fabricator
- Assemble complex parts in an Assembly Machine. Smelt up to 9 items in an Electric Furnace. Drive neighboring machines through a Processing Interface
- Deploy a Miner Drone for automated mining. Power Thrift and Parallel Beam upgrades change energy use and how many blocks it breaks. Compatible with FTB Chunks claims
Equipment
- Wear Mechanical Armor and install modules at a Modification Station (vision, oxygen, auto-feed, flux insulation, solar charging, magnets, and more)
- Powered tools: Mining Laser, Plasma Disruptor, Antigravity Disk, Night Vision Goggles
Crops and food
- Farm strawberry, cabbage, tomato, cucumber, onion, garlic, corn, bell pepper, eggplant, lettuce, blueberry, and raspberry
- Wild patches spawn in matching Overworld biomes. Cooked recipes use the harvests
- Grow Crimson Herb and Rift Berry for rift-related uses
Base extras
- Automatic doors, camouflage blocks, landmines, laser fences, light panels, cockroach traps, Phasewood building blocks, and more utility blocks for a lived-in base
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.228 or newer
- GeckoLib 4.8 or newer (required)
Optional: JEI, Jade, Mekanism (shielding module), FTB Chunks (miner claim checks)
Development status
This is my first Minecraft mod. I am learning as I go. Some textures and models are not perfect yet, and I will keep polishing them whenever I get new ideas or find the time. Feedback is welcome.
Planned for future versions
- Fruit trees
- More decorative blocks
- Additional worker professions
