DAOT - Limb Dismemberment
A Danny's AOT addon introducing dynamic limb dismemberment. Severing a Titan's limbs disables specific movement and combat abilities until regeneration occurs. Fully configurable via in-game server settings.
Quick answer
Which DAOT - Limb Dismemberment release should I use?
DAOT - Limb Dismemberment DAOT-Limb-Dismemberment-1.0.96.jar targets 1.21.1 with Fabric. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 5 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is DAOT - Limb Dismemberment required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does DAOT - Limb Dismemberment DAOT-Limb-Dismemberment-1.0.96.jar need?
DAOT-Limb-Dismemberment-1.0.96.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Danny's AOT, GeckoLib, Fabric API, Player Animation Library and 1 more first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 3 come through another mod in the chain.
3 extra mods were pulled in by other dependencies. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does DAOT - Limb Dismemberment add?
How It Works (Technical Overview):
The addon operates by utilizing Fabric Mixins to intercept damage events directed at Titan entities from the core Danny's AOT mod. When a damage event is registered, the mod calculates a dynamic probability algorithm based on the damage source (e.g., Thunder Spears, Titan Shifters) and the target's current health.
If the severance threshold is met, bitwise operations are used to update a synchronized limb mask attached to the entity. This network payload is immediately broadcasted to all tracking clients, instructing the renderer to visually hide the corresponding limb models. Simultaneously, the server instantiates a custom, physics-based severed limb entity at the exact coordinate offset of the original limb, calculating the Titan's current scale and rotational yaw to ensure visual consistency. The logic is handled entirely server-side to prevent desyncs, while the clients strictly handle the visual rendering and particle effects.
Core Mechanics:
- Localized Damage: Sustaining high-burst damage to specific hitboxes calculates a probability check against server thresholds to trigger dismemberment.
- Combat Penalties: Severing a Titan's arm immediately cancels and prevents subsequent attack abilities. Severing a leg forcefully disables sprinting and jumping capabilities.
- Entity Generation: Upon severance, a physical limb entity matching the Titan's scale and visual class is instantiated in the world alongside blood particle effects.
- Regeneration System: Severed limbs enter a configurable cooldown phase, followed by a time-based regeneration process that restores full functionality upon completion.
- Damage Scaling: Specialized weapons like Thunder Spears and attacks from Titan Shifters possess unique damage multipliers, significantly increasing the probability of a sever.
- Live Configuration: Server operators can dynamically adjust base sever chances, damage multipliers, and regeneration timers via the
/daotaddon configinteractive command interface.
Configuration & Settings:
Server administrators possess full authority over the mod's balance parameters via an in-game graphical user interface (GUI). Executing the /daotaddon config command (requires OP permissions) initializes the configuration protocol, dynamically synchronizing all updated variables across active clients in real-time.
Available Parameters:
- Base Sever Multiplier (Core Engine): The foundational multiplier utilized in calculating the overall probability of a limb detaching upon receiving damage.
- Maximum Sever Cap (Swords & Punches): Imposes a hard limit on the severing probability for standard non-explosive melee attacks, ensuring weapon balance is maintained.
- Thunder Spear Extra Chance: An additive probability bonus applied specifically when the intercepted damage source is a Thunder Spear.
- Titan vs Titan Extra Chance: An additive probability bonus applied when the damage source originates from another Titan or an active Titan Shifter.
- Pure Titan Extra Chance: An additive probability bonus applied when the target receiving the damage is a Pure Titan rather than a Shifter.
- Minimum Sever Guarantee: Defines the absolute minimum baseline probability (floor) for a sever event to occur, regardless of low damage calculations.
- Require < 50% Health For Severing: A strict boolean toggle. When active, limb severing calculations will completely abort unless the target Titan's current health falls below 50% of its maximum capacity.
- Regeneration Start Delay: Determines the static cooldown period (calculated in seconds) before a severed limb initiates the cellular recovery sequence.
- Regeneration Duration: Defines the exact temporal duration (in seconds) required for the limb to fully reconstruct and systematically restore the Titan's disabled capabilities.
- Missing Limb Stamina Penalty: A percentage-based reduction applied to the Titan's stamina mechanics while actively missing one or more limbs.
Commands & Administration:
All mod-specific commands require Operator (OP) Level 2 permissions. Several utility and debug commands require the administrator to be actively mounting a Titan entity to successfully target it.
/daotaddon config- Initializes the interactive, chat-based configuration graphical user interface (GUI)./daotaddon testlimb <leftarm | rightarm | leftleg | rightleg | botharms>- Manually forces the specified limb to sever on the currently mounted Titan entity. Primarily utilized for diagnostic testing or controlled cinematic events./daotaddon heal- Instantly restores maximum health, clears all bitwise limb damage masks, and resets the regeneration cycle for the currently mounted Titan./daotaddon forceregen- Bypasses the active regeneration delay cooldown on the mounted Titan, immediately initiating the visual and functional limb reconstruction phase./daotaddon info- Outputs raw synchronized mask integers, current entity health, and regeneration tick data for diagnostic and debugging purposes.
