About this project
What does V-Balls - Gotta catch 'em all add?
GottaCatchEmAll
Catch any mob — vanilla or modded — with Voxelballs.
Capture, store, release, and keep almost any Minecraft mob as your own pokemob.
Works completely standalone. With Cobblemon installed, its Poké Balls can also capture non-Pokémon mobs while using Cobblemon's own capture animations.
⚠️ Beta: Core capture, retrieval, placement, storage, and pet systems are implemented and working. Feedback and bug reports are welcome.
🎮 Capture
- Capture any vanilla or modded mob.
- Full capture, recall, and release FX.
- Failed captures restore the mob normally.
- Captured mobs retain their data and AI.
- Ball appearance changes depending on the mob's hostility.
- MasterVball guarantees a successful capture.
- Bosses can bounce or break Poké Balls, including MasterVballs. Bosses must be sufficiently weakened before they can be captured. MasterVballs and Masterballs guarantee the capture once the boss is weakened enough. Be careful! if not it will bounce and has the chance to capture other mobs in range.
⚪ Ball Progression
Voxelball
Crafting recipe:
I
IRI
I
I = Iron Ingot R = Redstone
4 Iron Ingots + 1 Redstone → 4 Voxelballs
Voxelball → SuperVball → UltraVball → MasterVball
Each tier upgrades from the previous one:
Iron + Redstone → Gold → Diamond → Nether Star
🐾 Pet Behavior
Captured mobs become persistent pets.
- Follow their owner.
- Wander naturally.
- Defend their owner.
- Configurable teleport and follow behavior.
- Hostile pets do not attack their owner.
Right-click your own pokemob to cycle between:
- Stay — remain in place.
- Wander — roam freely.
- Follow — follow your owner.
🎒 Pokebelt
Carry up to 7 filled Voxelballs.
- V — quick-select bar.
- Scroll to select a ball.
- Right-click to throw or recall.
- Shift + right-click to open the full inventory.
- Drag and reorder balls freely.
Supports Curios on Forge and Trinkets on Fabric, both optional.
📦 Storage & Placement
- Recall pokemobs into their Voxelballs.
- Place filled Voxelballs as 3D decorations.
- Pick them back up without losing data.
- Rename pokemobs using Name Tags or Anvils.
🔗 Cobblemon Integration
With Cobblemon installed:
- Cobblemon Poké Balls can capture non-Pokémon mobs.
- Cobblemon's own capture and throwing FX are preserved.
- Actual Pokémon remain completely handled by Cobblemon.
Without Cobblemon, the mod works normally using its own Voxelballs.
⚙️ Configurable
JSON configuration allows you to customize:
- Capture rates
- Per-mob overrides
- Boss thresholds
- Ball colors
- Follow and teleport distances
- Pokebelt slots
- FX colors
- And more
🔧 Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge or Fabric
Cobblemon, Curios, and Trinkets are completely optional.
GottaCatchEmAll is a standalone mob capture mod, not a Cobblemon addon.
