About this project

What does Smart Particle Culler add?

Smart Particle Culler

Smart Particle Culler is a lightweight, single-purpose performance mod designed to boost your FPS by preventing invisible particles from being created.

💡 How it works:

In vanilla Minecraft, the engine continuously instantiates, calculates physics, and renders thousands of particles (campfire smoke, furnace smoke, brewing stands, lava, spawners, torches), even when they are completely hidden behind solid walls or underground.

Smart Particle Culler intercepts particle creation at its source. If the target position is occluded by opaque blocks relative to the player's view, the particle creation is cancelled immediately.

Key Features:

  • 🚀 FPS Boost: Significantly reduces CPU and GPU overhead in particle-heavy areas (farms, nether, bases).
  • Memory Efficient: Prevents object creation in RAM entirely, reducing Garbage Collector strain instead of just hiding particles at render time.
  • 🎯 100% Seamless: Particles render instantly as soon as you move into a line of sight.
  • 🛠️ Standalone & Lightweight: No heavy library dependencies needed.
  • 🧩 Modpack Friendly: Perfectly compatible alongside major performance mods (Embeddium, Rubidium, FerriteCore, BadOptimizations, etc.).
