Berth - Bed in a Boat

Berth embeds a vanilla bed inside a vanilla boat.

Shift+right-click a boat with a bed in hand to fit the bed inside. Right-click the boat afterward to sleep in it at night, the same way a normal bed works. No respawn point is set. Shift+left-click removes the bed and returns it as an item; the boat is unaffected.

Works with any entity from the #minecraft:boats tag (regular boats, chest boats, bamboo rafts) and any item from the #minecraft:beds tag.

• NeoForge 26.2.0.64 or later, or Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or later
• On Fabric: Fabric API

Limitations

• One bed per boat.
• During daytime or clear weather, right-clicking a boat with a bed seats the player in the boat instead of starting sleep.
• Chest boats do not support the shift+right-click seating gesture, since vanilla already uses that click to open the chest. To board a chest boat with a bed at night, remove the bed first.
• The mod replaces vanilla boat renderers on the client, so it is incompatible with other mods that replace the same renderers.
• The mod must be installed on both client and server for multiplayer.

Also fixes

Two vanilla bugs affecting players standing on a boat: movement/camera stutter while standing on a boat on water, and the boat sliding out from under a standing player during camera rotation.
