About this project

What does BEssentials add?

BEssentials is a server-side management mod that adds the everyday commands used to run a multiplayer server: teleports, warps, homes, player-to-player teleport requests, a simple economy, formatted chat, a LuckPerms tab list, and staff inventory inspection.

Each feature is a toggleable module. Permissions are handled by LuckPerms (required). Data is stored in SQLite next to the config file. Messages, chat format, tab list text, and teleport delays are fully configurable.

Features

Spawn

  • /spawn — teleport to spawn (with optional warmup)
  • /setspawn — set the default spawn, or a spawn per LuckPerms group

Warps

  • /warp <name>, /warps, /setwarp, /delwarp
  • Named warps are saved and can be restricted with permission nodes

Homes

  • /home, /homes, /sethome, /delhome
  • Home limit is configurable, and can be raised per player with the LuckPerms meta key bessentials-homes

TPA

  • /tpa, /tpahere, /tpaccept, /tpdeny, /tpcancel
  • Requests expire after a configurable timeout

Economy

  • /balance, /pay
  • /eco give, /eco take, /eco set for staff
  • Balances are persisted in SQLite; starting balance and currency name are configurable

Chat & tab list

  • Chat format with LuckPerms prefix, suffix, and group
  • /lockchat, /unlockchat, /clearchat
  • Tab list header, footer, and name format, sorted by LuckPerms group weight

Invsee

  • /invsee <player> — inspect a player's inventory in a 6-row chest UI with tabs
  • Tabs: main inventory, extra slots (armor, offhand, crafting, extra mod slots), ender chest
  • /endersee <player> — same UI, opened on the ender chest tab
  • View-only unless the staff member has the modify permission

Requirements

  • LuckPerms — required. If it is missing, BEssentials does not enable any module.
  • Architectury API — required on every loader.
  • Fabric API — required on Fabric.

Supported versions

  • 1.20.1 — Fabric and Forge
  • 1.21.1 — Fabric and NeoForge

Download the jar that matches both your Minecraft version and your mod loader.

Installation

  1. Install the correct loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge) and Architectury API.
  2. Install LuckPerms for the same loader and game version.
  3. Drop the matching BEssentials jar into the server mods folder.
  4. Start the server once. Config is created at config/bessentials/config.json.
  5. Assign LuckPerms nodes, then restart or reload permissions.

Main permissions

  • bessentials.spawn, bessentials.spawn.set, bessentials.spawn.set.other
  • bessentials.warp, bessentials.warp.set, bessentials.warp.delete
  • bessentials.home, bessentials.home.set, bessentials.home.delete
  • bessentials.tpa, bessentials.tpa.here, bessentials.tpa.accept
  • bessentials.eco.balance, bessentials.eco.pay, bessentials.eco.admin
  • bessentials.chat.lock, bessentials.chat.lock.bypass, bessentials.chat.clear
  • bessentials.invsee, bessentials.invsee.modify

Operators (permission level 2) are treated as having every node. Teleports use a shared warmup and cooldown defined in the config.

Configuration

Modules can be enabled or disabled independently in config/bessentials/config.json. You can also edit teleport warmup/cooldown, home limits, TPA timeout, economy values, chat format, tab list text, and every user-facing message (including & color codes).
