About this project
What does Powered Mobs add?
Smart difficulty scaling for modpacks where players get too strong.
Powered Mobs makes enemies grow with you. In modpacks like All the Mods 10, where Silent Gear weapons and life perks turn combat into a walk in the park, this mod brings back the challenge — without turning mobs into simple health sponges and without nullifying your progression.
Designed and tested for All the Mods 10 (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge), but works with any modpack on that version.
What does it do?
Scales mob health and damage based on the real progression of nearby players. A newbie faces almost-vanilla enemies; a veteran with endgame weapons faces walls worth the fight.
Features
Hybrid difficulty (local + global)
Difficulty is calculated per mob, based on who's nearby:
- Local: the actual players around the mob (average + max, so a newbie next to a veteran doesn't lower the difficulty).
- Global: the server's historical progression, weighted lower — an advanced server never reverts to vanilla, but history doesn't crush newbies.
- World: deep caves and areas far from spawn are harder.
- Dimension: the Nether and the End scale higher.
- Newbie protection: a weak, solo player never faces absurd enemies.
Souls-style combat (anti-one-shot)
Raising health isn't enough against thousand-DPS weapons. Powered Mobs adds mechanics, not just numbers:
- Poise / stagger: very strong hits break the mob's poise instead of killing it instantly, forcing a second hit.
- Soft cap: excess damage is compressed with a square-root curve — your best weapon is still better, but there are no more one-shots. It's not a flat cap.
- Tiered shields: elite enemies regenerate a shield out of combat.
Fair damage toward the player
- Multiplies before armor: your armor still protects normally.
- Scales with your own health, not the server average: a newbie without gear never takes unfair hits.
- Sublinear curve: gaining health always pays off.
Enemy variety (DarkMobs-style)
Some random mobs get Resistance or Absorption, with probability and level based on the area's difficulty. More danger and variety without repetition.
Anti-sponge and anti-cumulative
- Bosses (tag
c:bosses) have their own reduced scaling — they're already tough by default, they don't become walls of millions of HP. - Rescaling always starts from base values: reloading chunks or using commands never multiplies health in a cascade.
Hellmarked integration (optional)
Detects infernal mobs (Elite / Ultra / Infernal) and adjusts their scaling to avoid buffing them twice. If you don't have Hellmarked, it's ignored without errors.
Commands
All op (level 2), works from console:
/poweredmobs list— all options and their values/poweredmobs get <option>— shows one option/poweredmobs set <option> <value>— changes an option on the fly/poweredmobs reload— recalculates scaling/poweredmobs rescale— rescales all loaded entities/poweredmobs stats— global system statistics/poweredmobs debug— difficulty breakdown of the entity you're looking at
Configuration
Nothing is hardcoded. ~80 options organized by sections (health, damage, difficulty, world, bosses, combat, effects). Everything adjusts in the config file or live with /poweredmobs set, no restart needed.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge
- Server-side: vanilla clients can connect.
- Works with mobs from other mods (operates on hostile entities, not a fixed list).
- Configurable exclusion list for NPCs and pets.
Combate estilo Souls (anti-one-shot)
Powered Mobs añade mecánicas, no solo números:
