About this project

What does SafeCam add?

SafeCam

A limited camera with visible boundaries.

SafeCam is a deliberately restricted free-camera utility. The player stays fixed while the local camera moves inside a small, collision-aware area; movement and interaction inputs are blocked while active.

✨ Highlights

  • Hold/toggle activation with a persistent active-state warning
  • Smooth local camera movement and adjustable speed
  • One-key return to the player/start position
  • Collision enabled and loaded-chunks-only behavior
  • Maximum distance boundary with direction and distance HUD
  • Automatic reset on damage, world change, dimension change, death, or disconnect

🎮 Quick start

  1. Download the file for your exact Minecraft version and loader.
  2. Install Fabric API as well when using a Fabric build.
  3. Put the JAR in your profile's mods folder.
  4. Start Minecraft and check Controls/settings for the available options.

Press F6 to toggle SafeCam. Reset, speed, boost, movement smoothing, distance, and damage behavior are available in settings.

🧩 Compatibility

  • Client-side only; a vanilla server does not need to install it.
  • Fabric builds require Fabric API. Forge and NeoForge builds use their matching loader.
  • Use the file made for your exact Minecraft version and loader.
  • Available from Minecraft 1.16.5 through 26.1.2 where that loader exists.

🔒 Privacy and safety

  • No telemetry, analytics, ads, account system, or background network service.
  • Configuration stays on your device.
  • The mod is designed around conservative defaults and clean fallback behavior.
  • Always check the rules of the server you play on; some servers restrict client utilities.

🚫 What it does not do

  • Does not pass through solid blocks or load new chunks
  • Does not attack, use, break, open containers, or interact remotely
  • Does not generate player movement packets, imitate spectator mode, reveal hidden content, or bypass anti-cheat systems

📦 Support

When reporting a problem, include the Minecraft version, loader, mod version, and the relevant client log. Do not upload a random loader/version combination: each published file is built for the exact version shown on its page.
