Le Voile
The world is sealed behind a black barrier that follows chunk borders. Open it one chunk at a time. Cursed energy, Black Flash, four skill trees, Domain Expansion and sealed dungeons.

Is Le Voile required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Le Voile 1.2.1 — Forge 1.20.1 need?
Le Voile 1.2.1 — Forge 1.20.1. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install GeckoLib first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.

About this project
What does Le Voile add?
Le Voile
You start in one chunk. Everything else is behind a wall of black that follows
chunk borders exactly. You tear it open one chunk at a time, and the further you
go from the centre, the more hostile — and the richer — the world becomes.
Cursed energy
One key does everything. Hold it to reinforce yourself; press it to open a
7-tick window; land a hit inside that window and the strike is enhanced. Hit
inside the first 3 ticks and you might land a **Black Flash** — the target
freezes, the screen goes black, and the mix goes silent for four ticks before
the impact drops. The silence is what makes the hit, not the sound.
There is no spell bar and no magic hotbar. Everything is a modifier on vanilla
combat.
27 innate techniques
You wake with one. It defines your fourth skill tree, your Domain, and your
Maximum Technique. Two of them — the **creation** sorceries — are the same
technique in two hands, and they do not play alike.
A second technique slot opens late, and you swap between the two in place.
Skill trees, 80 nodes
Four are shared — Body, Soul, Veil, Cursed — and the fifth is **your
technique's own tree**, whose head nodes change name and effect depending on
which technique you woke with.
You will not be able to take everything. That is the design.
The summits: **Black Body** (during Awakening, every enhanced strike *is* a
Black Flash), **The Reversed Soul**, **Lord of the Veil**, and the
**Maximum Technique**.
Domain Expansion — 27 of them, no two alike
Not a buff — a **place**. It anchors where you open it and does not follow you.
You can leave; nothing inside can.
Each of the 27 has **its own architecture and its own mechanic**: one drowns the
floor, one collapses inward, one refuses to let you heal, one keeps score. Two
domains never ask the same thing of you.
Grades and the exam
You climb from ungraded to **grade 4, 3, 2, 1 and Special**. Each promotion is
an **exam** — a fixed, scored trial, not a threshold you cross by grinding. The
free trial is repeatable, hard, and pays.
Oaths
A permanent, real constraint traded for permanent power. You sign; the mod holds
you to it.
The Rifts
Sealed dungeons that appear from ring 5 onward, and only inside chunks you have
already paid to open. One room at a time — the gate closes behind you and only
reopens when the room is empty. Their positions are *computed*, not
worldgen-generated: no world regeneration is needed to start seeing them.
Six bosses
The Warden of the Threshold, the Weeping Mother, the Blind One, the Collector,
the Ash King, and **the Reverse** — the last door of the mod, at ring 30. Each
one gates a tier of chunks, and each one drops a technique you cannot get
anywhere else.
A world that keeps moving
Permanent world events, custom weathers, custom fluids and four blights, on a
difficulty curve that follows your ring rather than your gear.

Requirements
**Forge 1.20.1** · Java 17 · **GeckoLib 4.8+ required** — the mod will not load
without it.
Status
**Alpha.** Everything described here is implemented and loads cleanly, but the
0.9 balance figures have had very little time in play. Expect to want to change
numbers — everything is exposed in config/voile-common.toml, including an
XP curve scale meant for modpacks.
Inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen. No assets from it are included; every texture and
every one of the mod's sounds is generated for this project.
