CraftLevel
Highly configurable RPG progression mod: player and mob scaling, emerald economy, custom skills/spells, and adjustable HUDs. Forge 1.20.1.
Quick answer
Which CraftLevel release should I use?
craftlevel-1.0.1.jar targets 1.20.1 with Forge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. No extra mods listed for this file.
Where it goes
Is CraftLevel required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does craftlevel-1.0.1.jar need?
craftlevel-1.0.1.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
This file does not list any required mods. Do not add a library just because a different file uses it.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does CraftLevel add?
Craft Level is a highly configurable RPG progression mod for Minecraft Forge. It levels players and mobs, scales combat through JSON, and adds economy, skills, Glory Kills, souls, and polished HUDs — without replacing vanilla with a huge custom bestiary.
Built for modpacks that want deep RPG systems with full control under config/craftlevel/.
LP System (Life Points)
Progression starts with LP. Defeat mobs to earn Life Points; when your LP reaches the threshold for the next level, you level up and keep climbing toward a configurable max level.
- LP gain is tied to combat (hostile kills).
- How much LP you need per level is driven by configurable scaling curves (base value, scaling factor, scaling mode, level cap).
- Your level persists with the player and feeds into every other system: stats, mob difficulty, Glory rules, and skill requirements.

Scaling Configuration
Craft Level treats power as data, not hardcode. You define reusable scalers (for example health, melee power, spell power, mob health) and choose how they grow with level.
- Support for common growth styles such as linear and power curves.
- Apply modes control how values are applied (multiply, overwrite, and related options).
- include_modifiers lets you decide whether existing attribute modifiers are considered.
- Reload configs live with admin commands so pack makers can iterate quickly.

Player & Mob Scaling (Combat Events)
Once scalers exist, you wire them into gameplay.
Players
- Attributes (like max health) scale with player level.
- Stats refresh on login, level-up, relevant equipment changes, and config reload.
Mobs
- When a mob enters the world, it receives a level based on the nearest player (with configurable variation).
- Per-mob min/max overrides let you keep villagers, bosses, or special entities in range.
- Mob stats reapply from that level so difficulty tracks the world, not a flat vanilla curve.
Combat events
- hurt — outgoing damage can scale by damage type (melee, arrow, magic, modded sources, and more).
- hurt_self — incoming damage scaling.
- heal — healing sources can use their own scalers (including mod heal keys).
That means a sword hit, a spell, or a custom skill damage type can each follow different balance rules.

Configurable Economy
An emerald-focused economy designed:
- Emerald wallet and bank-style storage items in multiple capacities.
- Compressed emerald blocks for bulk value.
- Economy behavior driven by JSON so you can tune sinks, rewards, and related systems.
- Works alongside villager/trading tooling in the mod for a fuller money loop.

Mob Focus
Lock onto a target in chaotic fights. Mob Focus lets you pin an enemy so your HUD and combat attention stay on the right mob.
- Client keybind to focus/clear a target.
- Synced to the server so focus state stays consistent.
- Dedicated focus HUD layout (portrait / info) you can reposition like other HUD elements.

Souls & Gravestone
Death has weight without being pure softcore misery.
- Limited souls with configurable restore timing.
- Optional emerald loss (flat or percentage) and item loss rules on death.
- Optional gravestone so your death location and recovery loop stay readable.
- All of it is config-driven for hardcore packs or gentler SMP rules.

Glory Kills & Altar of Death
A second progression currency for builds:
- Earn Glory Kills from worthy hostiles (enemies too far below your level do not count — gap is configurable).
- At night, light the Altar of Death, then offer an amethyst shard to convert Glory into an Arcane Shard.
- Use Arcane Shards to gain Skill Points.
- Altar is a multi-block ritual structure with lighting, particles, and proximity effects while lit.

Skills & Spells
Spend Skill Points to unlock and upgrade a large catalog of active and passive skills across damage, defense, utility, and mobility.
- Skill menu with costs and minimum player level requirements (fully configurable per skill level).
- Cooldowns, active-skill tracking, and a spell hotbar for casting in combat.
- Examples include combat bursts, mobility tools, mining utilities, sustain skills, and quality-of-life abilities (portable crafting, recall, and more).

Client HUDs & Editors
Almost every important resource has a HUD you can move and scale:
- Level circle / LP bar
- Custom health and hunger bars (optional)
- Emeralds, souls, Glory Kills
- Mob health bars and focus display
- Active skills / spell hotbar
In-game editors help you tune client layout and many server JSON values without only editing files by hand.

Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge
- AttributeFix-Forge-1.20.1-21.0.5 (optional for attributes biggest 1024, like Health)
For pack makers
- Configs:
config/craftlevel/ - Admin tooling via
/craftlevel(levels, souls, Glory, skills, reload, and more) - Systems-first design: scale existing Minecraft (and other mods) instead of shipping a new mob roster
