About this project
What does GlideClient add?
GLIDECLIENT
Glide is a client-side mod for Minecraft 1.8.9. It runs on Forge. Glide adds 120 optional small mods and a custom interface to control them.
What Glide adds
Glide gives you one menu that holds 120 separate mods. You turn each mod on or off on its own. The mods fall into five groups: player, render, HUD, world, and other.
The HUD mods draw information on your screen. These include a clock, coordinates, armor status, a CPS counter, a combo counter, a keystroke display, and a reach display. You drag each element to the position you want.
The render and world mods change how the game looks. These include zoom, freelook, clear water, clear glass, chunk borders, a chunk animator, 3D skin layers, and cape physics.
The player and other mods change how the game plays. These include toggle sprint, toggle sneak, auto text, waypoints, a stopwatch, faster screenshots, and keyboard sounds.
Glide draws its interface with NanoVG instead of the Minecraft interface code. You can pick fonts, colors, and background images. Glide saves your settings in profiles, so you can keep more than one setup.
Why you may want Glide
Glide replaces a large stack of separate small mods with one download and one settings menu. You do not need to match versions across many jar files.
Glide 7.2 runs as a Forge coremod. You can run it together with other Forge mods and with OptiFine. Earlier versions of Glide could not do this.
Glide is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license.
Before you download
Read this section. It describes what Glide does that you cannot see on screen.
Glide connects to the internet. Glide reads four files from glideclient.github.io when it starts. These files hold the update check, the news panel, the changelog, and a server blacklist. Glide sends no account data and no usage data to these addresses.
A server blacklist can turn mods off. Some servers ask that certain mods stay off. Glide reads that list from the address above. Glide turns off a listed mod while you play on a listed server. Glide turns the mod back on when you leave.
Some mods can break server rules. Glide includes a client spoofer, and it includes visual mods such as clear glass and chunk borders. Many servers do not permit these. Check the rules of your server first. You are responsible for what you turn on.
Glide turns off the Forge splash screen. Glide writes enabled=false to config/splash.properties at first start. The splash screen takes the graphics context and stops Glide from drawing its interface. To turn the splash screen back on, set that value to true.
Glide can conflict with other clients. Glide replaces 33 Minecraft methods. Another mod that replaces the same method can stop the game before it starts. Glide detects one such conflict and steps aside for it. If the game does not start, remove Glide and send the log file.
Glide uses Discord Rich Presence. Glide shows your activity in Discord when Discord runs on the same computer. Turn this off in the settings menu.
Glide is client-side only. Do not put Glide on a server.
