About this project
What does CraftNet Telecom add?
📡 CraftNet Telecom
The most complete telecommunications infrastructure mod for Minecraft 1.20.1.
Build real mobile networks, place towers, configure routers — all from a smartphone in your pocket.
⚠️ Early release — mostly stable with minor known bugs. Some features may not work or be bugged. Active development.
🗼 Cell Towers
| Block | Tech | Range |
|---|---|---|
| 2G Tower | GSM | 1200 blocks |
| 3G Tower | UMTS | 1000 blocks |
| 4G Tower | LTE | 600 blocks |
| 4G+ Tower | LTE-A | 600 blocks |
| LTE Tower | LTE | 600 blocks |
| 5G Tower | NR Sub-6 | 200 blocks |
| 5G+ Tower | NR mmWave | 100 blocks |
| VoLTE Tower | VoLTE | 600 blocks |
Every tower is fully configurable — operator, speed cap, frequency band (700 MHz rural vs 3.5 GHz urban), active/offline toggle.
📶 WiFi & Mesh
- WE Router — WiFi 5, 35 block range
- Mitrastar HGU — WiFi 7, 64 block range, up to 5000 Mbps
- Nokia WiFi Beacon 1 — WiFi 6E Mesh, chain up to 10 nodes, 64 blocks per node
How to set up a mesh network:
- Hold the Telecom Wrench, right-click the Nokia Beacon near your router → becomes Master node
- Right-click each additional Beacon → joins as Satellite node
- Keep nodes within 40 blocks for full speed (>40 blocks = −30% penalty)
🛰️ Starlink
Place the Starlink Dish with clear sky above — the mod checks every block upward to build height. Works globally regardless of tower range.
👥 Operators
7 pre-configured operators — fully editable in-game or via commands:
🇲🇩 Onedot · Orange · TM · MCV · Moldtelecom · StarNet · Unite
💳 SIM Cards & Plans
- Physical SIM items per operator — insert into phone from inventory
- Each SIM has a generated phone number, data balance, minutes, SMS quota
- Prepay and Postpay billing
- Roaming — use your SIM on any network
📱 Smartphones
Three phone models, each as a usable item:
- 🍎 iPhone 15
- 📱 Samsung Galaxy S26
- 🤖 Google Pixel 10a
📲 Phone Apps
- Signal — live bars, operator, tech, speeds, ping, frequency, roaming, environment (outdoor / indoor / underground)
- Speed Test — animated Ping → Download → Upload → grade A+/A/B/C/D
- WiFi — connect/disconnect from nearby routers
- Coverage Map — pan & zoom radar, all towers relative to your position, colored by operator
- Hotspot — share your mobile data with nearby players
- Data Usage — MB used, remaining quota, daily/monthly stats
- Signal Scan — list all towers in range with full details
- + many more
🚨 Emergency Alert System (EAS)
- Place the Emergency Alert Block to set up a broadcast station
- Tap SOS in the phone to send a distress signal
- Server-wide emergency broadcasts with visual overlay on all players' screens
📶 Signal Simulation
- Distance — degrades realistically with range
- Environment — outdoor 100% · indoor 60% · underground 10%
- Frequency — 700 MHz = ×1.5 range · 3.5 GHz = full speed
