About this project
What does Equipment Enhancing add?
Equipment Enhancing
Upgrade, customize, and repair your gear beyond vanilla limits.
Equipment Enhancing adds a risk/reward upgrade system to any weapon, tool, armor piece, or elytra — right at the Enhanced Anvil. Push your gear past vanilla stats with random bonuses, unique rare abilities, a tiered material system that scales from early game to end game, and a dedicated catalyst slot that lets you protect your gear from catastrophic failure.
⚒️ The Enhanced Anvil
A dedicated anvil block built for enhancing (crafted with an Anvil + Iron Ingots + Planks). It has three material slots plus a catalyst slot:
- Left slot — the equipment you want to upgrade.
- Right slot — the material (Enhancement Ingot / Jelly Ingot / Repair Ingot).
- Catalyst slot (top-left, labeled Additional Material) — optional Protection Jelly.
- Output slot — the result appears here only after you press the Enhance button.
The GUI shows a live info panel: current tier, next level, success chance, required materials, XP cost, current fixed bonuses, abilities, and the last enhance result.
| Material | Effect |
|---|---|
| Enhancement Ingot | Rolls a random upgrade. Success chance drops as the level grows — failure can downgrade or shatter the item! |
| Jelly Ingot | Guaranteed 100% success, no risk. Cost scales up as the item reaches higher tiers. |
| Repair Ingot | Fully restores durability without losing your Enhancement Level or bonuses. |
Every successful upgrade:
- Raises the item's Enhancement Level.
- Grants +10 max durability per level (change in config).
- Rolls a random special bonus from that equipment's bonus pool (tier-gated — stronger bonuses unlock at higher tiers).
- Has a separate chance to trigger a Double Enhance and jump +2 levels at once.
🎲 How Enhancing Works
Success & Failure
- Success — level up (+1, or +2 on a Double Enhance) and roll new bonuses.
- Failure (Enhancement Ingot only):
- The item drops N levels (default 1) but never below its current tier floor.
- There is a 10% chance the item is destroyed entirely — unless you used Protection Jelly.
- Cost — every attempt costs 1 XP level (configurable; free in Creative). Failure consumes the ingot regardless.
Tiered Ingot Rules
Ingots come in 8 tiers (Common → Named). The rules are strict:
- Ingot tier lower than the equipment's current tier → the enhance is rejected, nothing is consumed.
- Ingot tier higher → Enhancement Ingot gains +10% success rate per tier of difference (capped at 95%).
- Ingot tier matches → normal success rate.
- Jelly Ingot cost scales with the equipment's tier bracket: 2× (Common/Uncommon) → 3× (Rare/Epic) → 4× (Legendary/Mythic) → 5× (Ancient/Named).
Protection Jelly (Catalyst Slot)
Place Protection Jelly in the catalyst slot before enhancing to prevent total destruction on failure — the item will only downgrade instead of shattering. The amount required scales with the item's tier:
| Equipment Tier | Protection Jelly Needed |
|---|---|
| Common / Uncommon | 4 |
| Rare / Epic | 6 |
| Legendary / Mythic | 8 |
| Ancient / Named | 10 |
The Jelly is consumed on each attempt. Without it, a failed enhancement can shatter your item permanently.
✨ Bonus Pools
| Category | Possible Bonuses |
|---|---|
| Melee Weapons | Life Steal, Critical Chance, Knockback, Cripple, Fire Effect, Looters |
| Ranged Weapons | Continuous Shot, Speed Projectile, Fire Effect, Looter, Infinite Ammo, Chain Effect (Piercing / Ricochet) |
| Tools | Vein Miner, Fortune, Auto Smelt, Tree Cutter, Treasure Hunter, Area Till |
| Armor (all slots) | Vitality, Sturdy |
| Helmet | Experience Boost |
| Chestplate | Damage Reduction, Reflection |
| Leggings | Evasion, Jump Boost |
| Boots | Step Assist, Terrain Master |
Bonuses are tier-gated: each ability requires a minimum equipment tier to start appearing in the random pool, so early levels roll common abilities while legendary+ gear unlocks the strongest ones.
Enhanced armor also passively grants Water Breathing, Fire Resistance, faster walking, and reduced fall damage as it levels up.
🌟 Rare Abilities
Separate rare rolls can grant unique, one-level abilities on top of the normal bonus pool:
| Ability | Slot | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Infinite Durability | Any equipment | The item can never break |
| Dragon Wings | Chestplate | Glide through the air like an elytra |
| Hover / Aerial Stasis | Elytra / Dragon Wings | Hover in mid-air while sneaking |
| Night Vision & Hunter Sense | Helmet | See in the dark and reveal nearby monsters |
| Flash Dash | Leggings | Double-jump air dash with a cooldown |
| Heavy Stomp | Boots | Slam the ground on landing, damaging and knocking back nearby foes |
Dragon Boost
When gliding with Dragon Wings, hold the boost key (Left Alt by default) to accelerate continuously in the direction you're looking — the longer you hold it, the faster you go, capped at a max speed. Available under Controls → Key Binds → Equipment Enhancing.
