About this project
What does Shaolib Munitions add?
Shaolib Munitions
Shaolib Munitions is a developer-facing addon and reference implementation for Shaolib Core. It demonstrates how Shaolib's projectile runtime, cache-backed impact sweep, motion models, synchronized projectile data, fuze handling, and CBC-like impact logic can be assembled into a real munition system.
This mod is mainly intended for mod developers who want to study or build on top of Shaolib's projectile framework.
Included Projectile Examples
Shaolib Munitions includes several example projectile families:
- Big cannon shells: AP shell, HE shell, smoke shell, shrapnel shell, grapeshot bag, and their pellet/burst projectiles
- Autocannon rounds: machine gun bullet, AP autocannon round, and flak autocannon round
- Rocket and bomb munitions: APHE rocket, APHE bomb, and HE bomb
- Guided missiles: Hellfire-style and Tau-style guided missiles, including simpler command-guided variants
- CBCMS-style dual cannon shells: AP shot, HE shell, anti-air HE shell, AP shell, APBC shell, SAP shell, and incendiary HE shell
These are not only content examples; they are also examples of how to structure projectile types, munition property data, client rendering behavior, fuze state, penetration behavior, fragmentation, and cache-aware hit resolution on top of Shaolib Core.
CBC / CBCMS Replacement Support
Shaolib Munitions includes compatibility support for replacing selected Create Big Cannons and CBC: More Shells projectile behavior with Shaolib-powered projectile implementations.
The goal is to preserve familiar CBC/CBCMS munition concepts while moving the runtime behavior onto Shaolib's lighter projectile system, including its custom motion, sweep, impact, cache, and synchronization pipeline.
Not a Large Content Expansion
Shaolib Munitions is intentionally small as a player-facing mod. It does not aim to add a broad new arsenal or a complete standalone gameplay loop.
Its main purpose is to act as:
- a practical sample implementation for Shaolib Core
- a CBC-like projectile development sandbox
- a compatibility/replacement layer for CBC/CBCMS-style munitions
- a reference for other modders building high-speed or simulation-heavy projectile systems
