About this project
What does Crow Bar add?

Readable player locator bar for Minecraft — Fabric and NeoForge
CrowBar extends the vanilla locator bar with readable player name tags, skin markers, distance text, team-colored dots, and a self-view capture mode. On Minecraft 1.21–1.21.5, which have no locator bar, it draws the same markers over the experience bar. CrowBar runs on your client; other players do not need the mod. An optional server plugin or Allium can share player positions beyond the server's tracking range, especially on 1.21–1.21.5.
Key Features
Player Name Tags Render readable player names above locator bar markers.
Skin Faces Replace locator dots with player skin faces for quick identification.
Distance Text Show optional distance text next to player names.
Team Colors Preserve team colors when a team color is available, or pick per-player or single colors.
Self-View Mode Toggle a clean self-view mode for locator bar screenshots, with your own dot color. Hides hearts, hunger, armor, and the vanilla locator bar while active.
Minecraft 1.21–1.21.5 Markers drawn over the experience bar on versions before the locator bar, with the same names, faces and settings. On these versions, far-away players require Allium or the optional CrowBar server plugin.
Settings Screen Open it with
\, from Mod Menu on Fabric, or from the mod list on NeoForge. Appearance options are off by default, except Dim other labels, which stays on.Appearance Options Dark label backgrounds, a HUD that smoothly lifts hearts, hunger, the experience level and chat above labels, overlap hiding, team-colored skin frames, configurable dot colors, and distance fading. You can also change your own dot color in view-self mode.
Hold or Toggle Keys Each feature key can toggle, or show the feature only while held.
Claim Waypoints Claim names and bowtie markers for claims you own or are trusted on, from the CrowBar server plugin or GPExpansion.

Keybinds can be changed from Minecraft's controls menu under the CrowBar category.
Server Plugin
Every CrowBar jar is also an optional Paper, Spigot, Purpur and Folia plugin: put the same file in a server's plugins folder. It sends CrowBar players everyone's position, far beyond the server's tracking range, with Player Locator Plus style settings for hiding players, precision and colors. With GriefPrevention installed it adds bowtie claim markers, which players without CrowBar also see on Paper 1.21.6 and newer. It steps aside for Allium Essentials and GPExpansion when they are installed. See the README for its settings, permissions and commands.

Allium Essentials
Allium Essentials is an optional Paper server plugin that can send CrowBar a dedicated locator payload. When Allium is installed, CrowBar does not have to rely on vanilla locator waypoints: the server can send the player UUID, position, team color, and visibility state needed for the custom locator bar.
That lets CrowBar keep rendering players who are hidden, sneaking, invisible, or otherwise missing from vanilla waypoint data. Without Allium or the CrowBar server plugin, CrowBar falls back to normal client-visible players, including LAN and integrated-server sessions.
