About this project

What does Simple Fire Starter add?

Fire Starter

A small NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.1.

Hold the fire-starter and aim at some logs and sticks lying on the ground. After a

short charge-up it lights a campfire in front of you — or, on soul soil, a soul

campfire.

Features

  • A single "Fire Starter" item (firestarter:fire_starter), also found in the

vanilla **Tools & Utilities** creative tab.

  • Craft it in a 2×2 grid (top-left → top-right → bottom-left → bottom-right):

| Flint | Stick |

|-------|-------|

| Stick | String |

  • Right-click (or right-click a block) to charge for 40 ticks, then on release:

  • With at least **1 log and 3 sticks** on the ground within reach, it consumes them

and lights a campfire (a **soul campfire** if the spot sits on soul soil or soul sand).

  • Without enough fuel, it just lights a **plain fire** instead.

  • Has 16 durability: lighting a campfire/soul campfire costs **1** point, lighting a

plain fire costs **4** points.

  • Repairable like a normal tool: combine two fire-starters in the anvil, or repair

one with **flint**.

  • Removes the vanilla crafting recipes for the campfire and soul campfire, so they

can only be obtained through the fire-starter.

Building
