About this project

What does Accelerium add?

Accelerium

Accelerium is a lightweight optimization mod focused on improving rendering

performance, reducing unnecessary work, and making the game run more

efficiently on lower-end hardware.

Features

  • Occlusion Culling — entities and block entities hidden behind terrain or

walls stop being rendered instantly, using asynchronous ray tracing that

keeps your frame rate smooth.

  • Distance Culling — dynamically stops rendering entities and objects that

are too far from the camera, with a smooth fade-out.

  • Smart Entity Ticking — mobs far from any player run their AI less often,

reducing lag from big mob farms. Works in singleplayer and on servers.

Damage, drops, breeding and despawning are untouched.

  • Per-feature Configuration — every optimization can be enabled, disabled

or tuned individually to match your hardware.

Nothing is ever removed from the world: entities and block entities keep

existing, ticking and working normally — Accelerium only skips work that

cannot be seen.

Compatibility

  • Embeddium: recommended (not required)

  • Oculus / shaders: tested and working

  • Works in singleplayer and on dedicated servers

FAQ

Do I need Embeddium?

No, but they complement each other.

Does it remove entities or change gameplay?

Never. Accelerium only skips rendering and AI work that cannot be seen.

Where is the config?

config/accelerium-client.toml and config/accelerium-common.toml.
