Walk & Reveal
Create a world and there is nothing: no ground, no sky-line, no horizon. Only the single column of blocks under the spawn point. Take one step into the void and the ground appears under your foot. Keep walking and the world draws itself around you.

About this project
What does Walk & Reveal add?
Walk & Reveal
English
The world is already there. You just cannot see it yet.
Create a world and there is nothing: no ground, no sky-line, no horizon. Only the single column of blocks under the spawn point. Take one step into the void and the ground appears under your foot. Keep walking and the world draws itself around you, one column at a time.
Not a generator. A veil.
The world is an ordinary, fully generated vanilla world from the first tick. Nothing is deleted, nothing is placed, nothing is generated on demand. The mod hides the world at the moment it is drawn, and nothing else in the game is told about it.
That single decision is what makes it usable:
- You never fall through invisible ground. Collision reads the real world, so you can walk, build and fight on terrain nobody has uncovered yet.
- No lag spikes, no world damage. Revealing a column costs one bit and one mesh rebuild. No block updates, no lighting recalculation, no save file bloat.
- Redstone, mob AI, farms and physics are untouched. The server plays vanilla.
- What one player uncovers, everyone sees. The reveal is shared across the whole server.
What paints the world back in
Anything that travels through the void. Walking, swimming and flying uncover the column you occupy. Press against a tree trunk and the trunk appears. Ride a boat and the trail widens. Fire an arrow, throw a snowball, launch an ender pearl and the whole flight path lights up behind it. Water and lava uncover the ground their flow runs over. An explosion opens a wide crater of world in one go, and TNT is worth setting off just to watch it.
Creatures reveal terrain too, but only once they have met you. A village you have never visited stays dark, and nothing spawns on ground nobody has found.
Blocks that land
New columns do not blink into existence. They drop into place, overshoot, squash and settle, lit like the surface rather than like the underground they are surrounded by. A blast sends the wave outwards from the crater. Every part of it can be tuned or switched off.
Configuration
Around thirty options, all reachable in game: a settings screen on a key, /walkreveal set and /walkreveal toggle with tab completion, and a JSON file. Reveal radii, what counts as an explorer, the animation, the lighting of uncovered ground, the sounds and particles of hidden ground.
Fabric, Minecraft 26.2, Fabric API required. Players without the mod see the whole world, and the server can be told to refuse them.
Francais
Fabric, Minecraft 26.2, Fabric API requis.
