Fyr

Forgotten witchcraft, hidden just beyond the veil.

No machines, no energy bars, no tech tree. Fyr is about slow progression, discovery, and old magic.

What waits along the way, roughly in the order you'll meet it

🌿 Wild herbs, rare trees, a mortar and a steaming kettle — brews, salves, ritual smokes, a broom that refuses to stay on the ground, and one brew that shows you what has been standing beside you all along.

🕯️ Something small lives near the mushroom rings. It likes milk. Treat it well; it remembers.

🧚 Teachers beyond the standing stones, older and far less kind. Every lesson has a price — and the last one is not paid in items.

⭕ Chalk circles around ancient altars, with rituals powerful enough to move rain, soil, and stars. And within the circle, things sleeping in wind, water, and fire can be awakened.

🗝️ A tower where straw, clay, and iron learn to work for you — and never stop.

💀 A crypt, a sickle, and souls worth more than the bodies they came from. The dead will follow you — as long as you keep them out of the sun.

🩸 And below all that, circles that ask for blood instead of light. The ones who answer them keep their word.

Getting Started:

1. The village seer may tell you things no one else will.
2. Find a weathered book in a witch hut.
3. Brew something you probably shouldn't drink — and the world starts looking back.
4. Form a pact with a being from the other side of the veil and take it to an ancient stone circle.
5. Call an eldritch being four times and learn its lessons.
6. From there, seek the ancient tower of a golemancer, discover the blood altar hidden in the Nether, or uncover a crypt long forgotten.

Every book is written by someone who walked the path before you — a village seer, an herb woman, a teacher, his apprentice, and one voice you should not trust. Chapters open as you discover them — never before, and never spoiling what comes next.
