About this project
What does Far And Wide add?
Far And Wide
Far And Wide automates travel and cargo transportation using reusable Routes and Waypoints.
Record a Route by travelling it yourself and placing Waypoints along the way. Assign that Route to a supported Vehicle, activate it, and the Vehicle will retrace the journey automatically -- even after you dismount and travel elsewhere.
Automate movement across frequently travelled paths, send boats between distant shores, establish mounted transport Routes, or build long-distance cargo networks without having to construct enormous networks of rails, pipes, or conveyors.
You can also place Orders for items in remote storage facilities and have them delivered to your building site.
Features
- Create and manage reusable Routes.
- Place, edit, and remove Waypoints in the world.
- Assign Vehicles to Routes and they will travel autonomously.
- View the current Vehicle's next Waypoint on the navigation HUD.
- Waypoints can also be used to mark interesting locations for future exploration.
- Place and track Orders for items in remote storage facilities.
- Learn the mod through its built-in help screens.
- Currently no blocks or items are added by this mod. All features are accessible via a central command menu or configurable keystrokes, and are available the moment you start playing.
Route traversal types
- One Way — traverse the full length of the Route once, then stop
- Round-Trip - travel to the final Waypoint and back again, then stop
- Loop — travel to the final Waypoint, then directly to Waypoint 1, continuously
- Reverse — travel back and forth along the Route, continuously
Supported Vehicles
- Boats
- Minecarts
- Horses
- Donkeys
- Mules
- The player
Yes, you read that correctly -- you can even automate your own movement if you like! Useful for relieving the tedium of frequent long trips.
Automated Cargo Transport
Turn ordinary Waypoints into Cargo Waypoints that load, unload, or exchange items when a Vehicle arrives.
Cargo Waypoints are linked to nearby inventory blocks -- including chests, barrels, hoppers, and furnaces -- to create loading and unloading Stations. Configurable filters let you control exactly which items each Cargo Waypoint accepts and provides.
Supported cargo transports include:
- Chest boats
- Chest minecarts
- Donkeys/mules equipped with chests
Order System
Place Orders for items in your main storage facility without having to make the trip yourself.
Multileg Orders span multiple Routes, allowing you to request items that require different transport types. The first leg might take the items from your warehouse to the docks, where they are picked up by a boat and transported across the sea to another dock, where a chest donkey loads them up and takes them to their final destination.
Chunk Loading
Vehicles travelling on active Routes can keep nearby chunks loaded, allowing them to continue moving while players are far away.
Server operators can configure both the chunk-loading radius and the maximum number of Vehicles allowed to load chunks simultaneously.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2
- NeoForge 26.2.0.66 or a compatible 26.2 release
- Installation on both the client and server for multiplayer
The mod is designed for both single-player and multiplayer, although multiplayer support has not yet been thoroughly tested.
