About this project

What does All We Need add?

All We Need (AWN) is an extensible, server-authoritative Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11. It is built as a platform: every feature is a self-contained module sharing the same configuration, permission, and networking layers, so new features keep arriving over time.

What's inside right now

Flight – turn survival into creative-style flight, fully validated by the server:

  • OFF disables AWN flight.
  • BEACON grants a visible five-second AWN Flight effect near an active beacon, refreshed every second (ranges default to vanilla 20/30/40/50 blocks).
  • PERMANENT restores infinite AWN Flight after joining, respawning, or changing dimensions.

Hovering and moving flight have separate experience and hunger costs. Both can be enabled at once, rates support decimals, and hunger drains saturation before the visible food bar. Your current fall is protected once when AWN removes flight. Creative and spectator players are never charged. Includes soft compatibility with BeaconFlight 1.3.7.

Packet limits & CPS controls – protect your server from bad clients and runaway packet spam. Every rule has three modes:

  • DEFAULT – keep vanilla behavior, add no AWN limit.
  • CUSTOM – enforce the configured limit. Excess total traffic disconnects the player; excess category actions are dropped and reported by a throttled actionbar warning and server log.
  • UNLIMITED – remove only that frequency limit; validity, permissions, reach, signatures, and all other vanilla checks stay active.

Covered rules: total traffic, movement, chat, commands, command suggestions, item drops, custom payloads, attack, block breaking, use/interact, and container clicks. exemptOperators (default true) keeps the LAN/single-player owner and your OPs out of the limits.

Configure in-game

Press F10 to open the configuration screen — editable by players at or above the configured edit level (default OP level 2); everyone else sees a read-only copy. The dedicated-server console can always configure AWN. Everything lives in one per-world file: <world>/serverconfig/all_we_need.json, with automatic .bak backups and corrupt-file quarantine.

Commands for the console and authorized players:

/all_we_need packet get [rule]
/all_we_need packet set <rule> default
/all_we_need packet set <rule> custom <limit>
/all_we_need packet set <rule> unlimited
/all_we_need packet exempt_operators <true|false>
/all_we_need packet reset [rule]
/all_we_need reload

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.11, Fabric Loader 0.19.3
  • Fabric API (required)
  • YetAnotherConfigLib 3.8.2+1.21.11-fabric (client only, for the F10 screen)
