About this project
What does Ender Fox add?
The End feels empty. Endless islands, silent void, and Endermen everywhere. Ender Fox adds something new to that lonely dimension: a creature that looks like an ordinary fox, but carries the unsettling power of the Enderman.
What is the Ender Fox?
The Ender Fox is a mysterious mob that roams the outer islands of the End. It has the familiar shape and movement of a fox, but its dark purple appearance and swirling portal particles make it clear that this is no normal animal.
It does not attack players on sight. Left alone, it wanders quietly like any other creature, until you make the mistake of looking it in the eyes.
How does it behave?
Do not stare at it. If you look directly at an Ender Fox, the same way you would provoke an Enderman, it becomes hostile and will chase you. Wearing a carved pumpkin on your head will stop it from noticing your gaze.
It teleports when threatened. When the Ender Fox is hit, it often vanishes with the classic Enderman teleport sound and reappears somewhere nearby, leaving purple portal particles behind.
It can send you away. If an angry Ender Fox catches you and lands a hit, it may randomly teleport you to another spot, with the same eerie teleport sound. Watch your step near the void.
It drops Ender Pearls. Defeating an Ender Fox rewards you with an Ender Pearl, making these rare encounters worth the risk.
Where can you find it?
Ender Foxes spawn naturally only in the End dimension, on the outer dragon islands in End Highlands and End Midlands. They are rare. You might only see one or two per island, so keep your eyes open, but maybe not too open.
Fabric players will also need Fabric API and Architectury API. Forge and NeoForge players will need Architectury API.
Tips for Adventurers
Bring a carved pumpkin if you want to observe Ender Foxes safely. Do not turn your back on one you have already angered. Listen for the teleport sound. It means something just moved, and it might be you. The End is dangerous enough without a fox that plays by Enderman rules.
Good luck in the End. And try not to make eye contact.
