About this project
What does Zombie legion add?
Zombie Leader 1.0.0 — Initial Release
Minecraft: 1.20.x | Loader: Fabric | Requires: Fabric API
The first official release! 🎉
A zombie warlord rides through the world on an armored horse, recruiting wild zombies and drilling them into a disciplined legion — shield-walling infantry, volleying javelin throwers, and charging cavalry. When the war horn sounds, the whole army marches to war.
⚔️ Core Gameplay
- The Zombie Leader: automatically recruits nearby wild zombies into its legion, up to 256 soldiers (configurable)
- Three unit types:
- 🛡️ Infantry: raise shields to form a shield wall; elite soldiers automatically counter-attack after a successful block
- 🔱 Javelin Throwers: switch between direct and lobbed trajectories on the fly; at max tier they have a chance to throw explosive tridents
- 🐎 Cavalry: real momentum physics (acceleration, braking, turn radius) with couched-lance charges — the faster the charge, the harder it hits
- Seven squads: a bodyguard detail that never leaves the leader's side, plus two squads each of infantry, javelin throwers, and cavalry, all under one command
🏳️ Formation System
- Two marching states: a recruitment patrol phase (loose patrols, cavalry scouting in wide circles) and a garrison phase (front infantry squares, javelin mid-guard, cavalry holding the rear gate)
- Four combat doctrines, switched automatically based on the enemy situation:
- Phalanx (Square): infantry lock shields into a wall and let the enemy break against it
- Arrowhead (Wedge): the whole army forms a single arrow tip for a concentrated breakthrough
- Crane's Wing (Encirclement): a 240° pocket that surrounds the enemy on three sides
- Reclining Moon (Feigned Retreat): a desperate defensive counter when the leader is near death
- Horn commands: a rally horn on engagement and a distinct formation horn on every doctrine switch (goat horn sounds, audible across the map)
🧠 Army AI
- Threat table: enemies are marked, prioritized, and assigned in real time; when the primary target falls, a successor is promoted instantly
- Permanent vendettas: any entity type that attacks the legion is hunted forever
- Cavalry tactical assessment: picks wedge charges or focused group attacks based on enemy count, strength, and speed
- Post-battle rewards: combat merit is converted into healing for the wounded and fresh recruits
- Equipment progression: soldiers' gear upgrades over time (wood → iron → diamond → netherite)
