About this project
What does The Buried Age add?
The Buried Age
Somewhere beneath the plains, a column juts out of a hillside. A statue's raised hand breaks the grass. The ground has collapsed into a shallow pit.
Start digging.
An entire city, entombed
This isn't a ruin scattered across the surface. It's a full Greek city — paved streets, houses rich and poor, a pottery workshop, an agora with a fallen colonnade, a treasury, and rarely, a temple — generated completely sealed inside the earth. There's no cave, no entrance, no shortcut. You excavate it.
Some rooms survived. Break through a wall and you'll drop into a chamber untouched for three thousand years. Others are packed with rubble and suspicious gravel waiting for your brush.
Forge of Hephaestus
Deep in the rare temple stands a cold stone hearth with a hammer resting on it. No interface, no menu. Place an Ancient Blueprint on the stele, set a diamond block in the niche, lay your weapon on the anvil — and strike it three times.
The enchantment named on the blueprint goes one level beyond the vanilla cap. Sharpness VI. Fortune IV. Protection V. Efficiency VI.
Blueprints are single-use and each enchantment can only be pushed once per item. Around 25 exist. You'll be digging for a while.
Wrath of Zeus
One enchantment can't be found at any enchanting table, traded from any villager, or pulled from any loot chest. It exists on a single blueprint, hidden in city treasuries.
Every fourth strike calls lightning down on your target.
Also included
- 4 Greek pottery sherds with their own decorated pot patterns
- Coin pouches, decorated pots, and buried loot throughout the city
- 12 advancements extending vanilla's archaeology
- Ghostly echoes of the city's former residents, still walking their old streets
