About this project
What does Key Bindings Overhaul add?
Key Binding Overhaul
Tired of Minecraft's flat, unreadable keybind list? This mod replaces the vanilla Key Binds screen with an interactive keyboard layout — click any key to see what's bound to it, spot conflicts at a glance, and manage everything without scrolling through a wall of text.
Why use this instead of vanilla?
Visual keyboard UI
Click directly on keys to assign actions, see color-coded highlights for bound keys, conflicts, and matches — no more guessing what key you're looking at.
One action, multiple keys
Bind the same action to as many keys as you want. Or set up modifier combos (e.g. Ctrl+Q for Drop Stack) that only fire when the full combination is pressed.
Built-in conflict fix
Vanilla has a long-standing bug: if two actions share the same key, only one of them fires. This mod ships with a built-in fix (similar to KeybindFix+) that ensures every action bound to a key fires correctly — no more silent conflicts.
Preset profiles
Save your entire keybind configuration as a named preset. Create as many profiles as you want, switch between them instantly, export to a file to share or back up, and import presets from other players.
Unlocked hardcoded actions
A few things Minecraft doesn't let you rebind — now you can:
- Drop Stack (normally Ctrl+Q, hardcoded)
- Cycle Gamemode (triggers the native F3+F4 switcher)
- Clear Chat
Quality of life
- Search bar when assigning actions — no more scrolling through hundreds of entries
- Keyboard / Numpad tab toggle on smaller screens
- Changes auto-save to your active preset the moment you make them
