About this project

What does CIT Resewn: Continued add?

CIT Resewn: Continued is an unofficial continuation of SHsuperCM's CIT Resewn (archived), re-implementing MCPatcher/OptiFine's Custom Item Textures (CIT) resourcepack format for Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric.

If you've ever used a resourcepack with custom item textures via optifine/cit/ .properties files, this mod is what makes those keep working.

Features

  • texture= / tile= CIT rules — the vast majority of real-world CIT packs, including ones with no separate base texture for the target item.
  • model= CIT rules — a full custom 3D model replacing the item entirely (e.g. commemorative "doll"-style collectibles), with correct shading and its own display transforms.
  • Keyed texture.<key>= overrides for bow/crossbow draw stages and a broken elytra.
  • Armor and elytra texture CITs.
  • OptiFine's implicit "same file name as the .properties" asset convention.
  • Animated CIT spritesheets (the OptiFine frametime convention).
  • Legacy nbt.display.Name / nbt.display.Lore.N / nbt.SkullOwner.Name conditions from pre-1.21 packs, translated automatically.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader, Fabric API.
  • Optional: ModMenu + Cloth Config for an in-game config screen.

Known limitations

  • Keyed texture overrides only resolve for bow/crossbow and elytra (not a fully generic dispatch system).
  • Conditional/keyed sub-item model overrides (e.g. a bow's model.pulling_0=) are not supported.
  • No dedicated enchantment= CIT type (custom glint texture override) — normal enchant glint visibility works fine on every CIT-reskinned item.
  • A custom model= with its own real 3D geometry doesn't support CIT spritesheet animation (flat model= icons do).
